Second time here.
i first stayed at the Citrus Hotel in 2008 for 3 nights. This time after 4 years, I brought my family. I am just as satisfied as I was the first time. Keep up the good work.

good 3 star in a not good area which seen better days
I used to stay here quite often, it's a bit run down, but I had a nice experience with a late check in and very accomodating staff at 2 AM. There is a wonderful swimming pool, you cannot beat the price, the "Mamma stall restaurant" adjacent to the hotel is one of the best eating places for Roti, Nan, and inexpensive indian /malay cuisine, where many taxi drivers frequent. Breakfast was so so, was much better two years ago
Nearby PWTC which has a nice food court in the basement, about 10 minute walk up Jalan Putra, which on the way are also a couple of money changers offering great exchange rates as well as a nice veggie restaurant.

Pleasant but....
I have to give compliments to the hotel service staff for doing a good job.
The stay was pleasant except for the check in.
We arrived at the hotel at about 1pm and was told that the check in time was 2pm. We didnt get our rooms till 3pm.
I guess all the effort for creating a pleasant guest experience went to waste with the late check in. Imagine having to drive from Singapore to KL for 4-5hours. Rushing through the traffic only to be asked to wait as the rooms were not ready even when the official check in time was 2pm.
The rooms were alright except for the ants trail we found. We had to be a pest exterminator for the first 2 hours in room.
As for the location, it is pretty near to most of the tourist landmarks in KL. Just that the location is a little sleazy. According to our taxi driver, the inner parts of location is where usually the police will raid for drugs or gang fights. We didnt see any thing close to that during our stay.

Our stay in this hotel is not value for money at all compared to other countries like Panda Hotel in Rangoon, Myanmar and Renuka Hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka during our holiday's trip on December 2011,were far more better than this Citrus Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Valuable Stay!
The hotel is situated in the middle of the city. It very convenient place to stay whereby a lot of shops surround, choices of eatery place and cleanliness of the area. Me and my family enjoy stay during our trip here.

Overall Experience
My family of three which includes a 2yo child stayed on the Club Floor and we were certainly impressed with the value for money Citrus was offering. I shall rate my overall experience in point form to get to the details: 1. Bathroom: The toilet choking on us was certainly a very unpleasant event. The toilet bowl doesn't flush and water, alongside all the "stuff" in it overflowed and spilled o n the floor! We requested for a change of room after 2 failed attempts to repair the toilet by the maintenance dept. However, the Front Office staff were very slow and somewhat reluctant to facilitate the change of room and not apologies to us for this inconvenience caused. 2. Shower. The fact that there isn't a shower hose proved extreme inconvenience for us, especially when bathing a 2 yo son. By the time the water from the wall-mounted sprinkler reached my son's height, the water splashed everywhere and I had a hard time bathing him properly. 3. I think the restaurant is very much under staffed. We had to remove dirty plates ourselves and even go to the kitchen for clean glassware and cutlery. Of course, if i were to compare this hotel to a five star hotel, it wouldn't be fair. I think Citrus offers a lot more than what others can in the 3 start category. I might stay here again but I'll try some other ones in the same category before I come back again.

hotel is not central; to get something, you must ask several times, there is no disciplin with the stuff, pool is nice but no service arround, taxi transfer to sky bus was difficult

Not a pleasant stay
These are some experience I had while I was staying there for 3 nites when me & my wife was visiting KL
1 - I was given 2 single beds joining together upon checking into the room. So when I told them that I have actually requested upon booking. So I requested to change to a smaller room with a single double bed which they do not have. So we made do with it.
2 - Breakfast in the morning was terrible, no topping up of food as there wasn't much food left in the buffet inserts. We had just bread and jams to fill up our stomach before we head out to find more food.
3 - 2nd night was the worst night. The whole level which we are staying had a blackout at around 2am for about a hour. I called the front office but with no one answer. " Maybe the whole level was calling them". So I decided to just head down to the front desk." Just imagine how frustrated you will be when you are in a very sleepy mode"
I felt that a Backpacking Hostel would fare better than Citrus.

Can be considered
Despite arriving late, the room was not ready and we had to wait for at least another 1/2 hr before getting the room.
After saying that, front desk staff was fast to salvage the situation, asking us to go to the restaurant for complimentary drinks (juices) while waiting.
The room was pretty good, albeit a little run down. Stains in the bath, water marks on the tiles, cistern that took forever to fill up and it was noisy with 'water-fall' sound throughout the night.
Quite a bit of noise outside as well... service carts may need the wheels oiled.
Breakfast was pretty decent and service consistently good overall.
Think if they could extend checking out time to may be 3 pm would be nice.
Very helpful staff. On the whole pretty pleasant experience
