Worth it!
The hotel itself was very clean, good staffs (helpful and polite). Did not experience any "unusual events". Good room, good view (Petronas Tower), free WIFI, very good location. Everything in 1 place (shopping, business, eating, etc.). I will come back for sure!

Garden Hotel KL: very nice but far from main attractions
We stayed 5 nights and had a lovely room; really can't fault the accommodation and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. It's also right next to two major shopping malls, so if you like splashing the cash it's a great place to be; the malls also a vast choice of eateries to suit every pocket, as well as an excellent restaurant in the hotel. (I was also teaching a training course for the first two days of our stay and the conference facilities on the 29th floor are superb!) But it's not a great location for sightseeing; a long hike to the KLM rail station and then only infrequent service (but very cheap!); you also have to change tickets as well as trains to get on the LRT system, so very disappointed by the KL public transport. Otherwise just take a taxi but beware that many charge inflated prices with fat-running meters (and the taxi the hotel booked us took us to the wrong airport!!). So it all depends what your priorities are.

Home Away From Home
I found the room quite friendly. It was spacious (I took a deluxe room) and I love the bathroom space too. Quite comfortable bed, with varied choice of pillows available, very good idea. I came once before in 2009, the Gardens had just opened I think. And when I was visiting KL again on business, I didn't think of any other hotel.
You could supply the fridge with some crackers, soft drinks etc. though. Sometimes that is good for the guest. Also you could add more hand things in the bathroom like vanity case, with a nail file, q-tips, etc.
I had a wonderful meal on my last day (from the room service). your breakfast is full of various choices and was very satisfactory. However when I finished the Japanese green tea in the tray in my room, no more was supplied. You should check this every day and add what is missing from the supplies.
It would really be good if there was a shuttle bus to centre KL every few hours, since there is no other transportation except taxis!

Location
Excellent location, right next to the Mega Mall in Mid Valley. There are lots of shops and restaurants around. The only issue is the traffic getting in and out of the hotel.

3 out of 5 stars!
The carpet in the room has a couple of stained spot as well as the carpets in the corridor leading up to the room. Spread at buffet breakfast needs a lot of improvement in terms of healthy selection and less greasy noodle, etc.
Other than that location is perfect with 2 adjoining shopping malls.

Great decor, improvements needed for customer service
Great location, next to Gardens and Midvalley Megamall. Great decor, contemporary and space efficient design with a very homely feel. Great view, stayed at 18th floor on New Year's eve and fireworks from Bukit Bintang, KLCC etc can be seen. Mediocre, bordering on rude customer service where they kept on pestering every five minutes with regards to late check-out. One or two reminder will be sufficient with a better tone. All in all, a good place and recommended if you are not planning to go anywhere far from Midvalley area as the public transportation can be a hassle.

Generally, the hotel has good service and is very convenient for shopping; however, we were very disappointed as the "twin bed" booking turned out to be "double bed" and the staff refused to change it for us even though it was stated on on our booking receipt which was provided by asiarooms.
