I had stayed in the Federal hotel...
I had stayed in the Federal hotel for 2 times , when I stayed I realise that the Tv in my room was a "old" type model, and the toilet flushing was a problem when I used it and I would just rated 3 star hotel.... But the hotel location was great as a very gd reason for me to stay as it has lots of shopping and food around , even the transport is quite convenice too...

I stayed at the Federal Hotel KL summer 2004 .Very nice location, the reception staff not so friendly but ok. The rooms rather small but clean. The breakfast was superb and alltogether I enjoyed my stay there.

The Federal hotel is in a very good location and thats about it. We found the staff not so friendly with the exception of 1 or 2. The breakfast does not cater for the western society. Our room was very small and dirty with marks all over the floor drawings all over the walls. We only had 3 channels on tv, the lights didnt work neither did the safe.The bathroom had all all toilet paper rolled up and thrown on walls.not a 3-4 star hotel.

Federal Hotel is very central to the shopping malls, food court etc. It is very nice and clean and the staff are very friendly. I would certainly stay there again!!!

In the heart of KL, Federal hotel is a nice place to stay in. Big rooms, cooperative staff, and many facilities. Good management showed satisfactory cooperation more than once to solve small problems came up. The only point is that it's an old place, since the independence of Malaysia 1957, should be renewed.

While the location is excellent and the service tolerable I really could not close the bathroom lights at night due to the colony of roaches. The TV had a total of 3 channels while the AC could really use service.
The carpet smelt of roaches as well.
Really not worth the price. Its said to be 4 star but could not be more than 3.
