Our stay at the Federal in KL...
Our stay at the Federal in KL was most enjoyable. The hotel is in an excellent location in the Golden Triangle and convenient for shopping, restaurants, Chinatown and Main Bus Station. Rooms are large with all the usual facilities. Buffet breakfast is very comprehensive but can be very busy at peak times. Hotel also always seems to be very busy. Good facilities and great view of Petronas Towers from top floor revolving restaurant, but restaurant could do with an upgrade. Overall a very good value place to stay if you want to be situated in the heart of KL but hardly suitable for romantic couples. Many guests seem to be on short stop-overs between Europe and Australia and so there are many families staying at this hotel rather than business people.Would recommend the Federal though for a stay of a few days.

Supposed to be a 4 star hotel,...
Supposed to be a 4 star hotel, not in our opinion. Rooms were in desperate need of a renovation and we were apparently upgraded when I queried the state of the room. No wifi internet available FOC.Only good point was the location in Bukit Bintang. Porter staff were helpful.

Location is Prime to anywhere especially travelling...
Location is Prime to anywhere especially travelling with family. Only concern is parking is at Low Yat building where it is located opposite the hotel. Service is Good.

We frequently stay at the Federal, its...
We frequently stay at the Federal, its conveniently located within Bukit Bintang. The room was large & comfortable but the bathroom on this occasion was small with a leaking sink which was not fixed despite our reporting it to the hotel. The restaurant staff were friendly & efficient but the breakfast was pretty grim with hardly any meat for the carnivores. The reception staff on this visit were pleasant. Overall impression is that the Federal has been affected by the credit crunch & is attempting to increase its profit margins by making savings that put the hotel at risk of being rated international 2 star. Despite all this we like this hotel with all its faults & will be returning again.

Stains on bath towels. No soaps in bath...
Stains on bath towels. No soaps in bath room upon checking in. Pillow cases and bedsheets not changed. Found strands of hair on bedsheets and pillow cases. Went down for complimentary breakfast at 6.40. Female staff sitting at counter reading papers ignored my wife and I. There was no staff at the entrance to attend to us. The hotel is well located near the...
The hotel is well located near the shopping mall area. Even though I made a reservation of a "deluxe room" the room is extremely noisy (near bars and discos). You cannot sleep at night! Other facilities are Ok but not nice. The staff (phone operator / front desk) are rude. If you can chose for the same money other hotel don´t go to the Federal!

Basically everything was good for our 1st...
Basically everything was good for our 1st visit to KL. Even the room service was good. The noodle that we ordered was a good supper before bedtime. The only thing that I didn't really like was that our room was near the exit, the stairways. Thought it was quite dangerous and quiet for 2 girls. But overall the stay was good! Definitely would recommend this place! Nice and convenient!

The reception forgot to check what kind...
The reception forgot to check what kind room we preffer in the booking paper. I chose High floor, she gave me low floor. we book for 3 person room, the neccessity only have one set for one person only. There is one day the cleaner forget to clean the room. There is no slipper and comb.
