Service is variable depending on the staff you encounter but generally speaking the staff are uninterested & whilst not rude or unfriendly I did not find them welcoming or helpful either.
The best thing about this hotel is its location, perfect for shopping (in malls) and dining, it's right in the thick of it. If you want markets China town is a better location, which is about a half hour walk from this hotel, which is the equivalent to a $10 ringget cab in the morning and $35 in the afternoon (due to traffice, hence the walking).
The bar/resturnt next door has it's music up loud until 3am, despite the fact no one seems to be in there. Can be annoying if you're a light sleeper.
When staying there I strongly recommend asking for a room NOT facing to the inside of the building because that "view" is totally depressing and you get no natural light into the room so you can't tell if it's day or night. We requested a room change and the staff were happy to move us free of charge.
The rooms (both that we stayed in) were old fashioned styling, very retro (in a bad way) with olive green furniture that you can tell has been there for 50 years. In the first room the wall was drity, the safe was broken, the toilet had stains and the shower didnt have hot water. The linen had marks/stains on them in both rooms, the toilets didnt seem to work properly and both rooms contained old TVs. There was a musky smell present throughout the entire hotel and the control for the room lights frustrated me.
Overall we feel we paid to much for what we got.
We would not stay here again, it's not a nice place to wake up, Ive stayed in hostels that are nicer.
There are a number of other hotels on this strip that we would try out first.
