On arrival (17:30)... We were offered a room, that was so small, that the 2 single beds could hardly be contained. The electrics did not work and the room could never in their wildest dreams be classed as a superior.
Requested... non-smoking, high floor room with kingsize bed...
Got... room 413, on floor 4 complete with cigarete burns on the carpet and bed covers and 2 single beds.
I went down to reception, where there was about 15 people queued at a reception with one person working.
We eventually got a room that was suitable (i.e. non-smoking and with space to swing a cat) at 21:30.
Reason given was they were busy and had late check outs.
These issues aside the hotel to its credit was perfectly located for central KL. The food was exceptable for a budget hotel and the pool was good.
The downsides were - due to the hotel being 'added' to in the early 60s, the access is limited as you are on split floors, not too good for the old dears.
The decor of the rooms were also stuck in the sixties (you should see the bedside tables).
The hotel bar is almost impossible to find - no signs (hint it is on the carpark level)
Air conditioning is not controlale in the 'old' section of the hotel, but even the new section the controls are there for decoration purposes only.
Overall - It was cheap, but not that cheap as to what you got for the money.
