GIVE 'THE FED'. A GO
stayed here twice in 2 different rooms. Despite the difference in size of the rooms for the same tariff they were both well prepared and equipped. The Fed is in the thick of city life so you don't need to walk far to encounter many 'ethnic' places to eat, and, if that's your bag, lots of shops selling articles of all descriptions. Breakfasts are ample and quite a large selection is available-tho not Vegemite!

Cool !!
Nice room & location. Just that the bathtub is kinda small, but then overall is still ok. Alot of nice food along the street.

High quality accommodation
Room was clean and the facilities complete. I booked the family room which came with 2 queen sized bed overlooking the pool. The view was nice and the beds were just right for my family of 3 adults and 3 kids. Cheaper than booking 2 separate rooms but overall, i feel the price has gone up over the years. 5 years back, i could get a room for about SGD$50++ under promotions. Now , it's at least twice that. But that's due to inflation. Since the hotel is located at Bukit Bintang, shopping and dining is just a few minutes walk however, be warned if you decide to take a car or taxi back to the hotel, the traffic jams leading to the hotel can be massive depending on the time of day. My advice, stick with the LRT or Monorail. Believe me when i say it's faster on foot. And cheaper too.

No regard for request
I specifically requested for a non-smoking double room on a high
floor but was given a twin room on low floor which reeked of cigarette smell. On top of that, I was initially given a room which was actually occupied. Imagine the embarassment this could have caused if I had opened the door with the occupants inside instead of just the luggages. If making requests is just paying lip service, I guess the management might just as well do away with this.

The room has window that look into a dark airwell at other windows. There are 2 entrances at different levels, can be quite complicating. Car parking is in next building. Hotel services are good. Breakfast is mediocre.

The hotel was close to everything that...
The hotel was close to everything that we wanted, the staff were fantastic and very helpful, the hotel itself was very clean and tidy but the rooms are a little outdated and could do with updating. The breakfast was nice and plenty of it. There is a revolving restaurant on the 18th floor and it has a good view of the city as you enjoy a drink. The pool was nice but again a little outdated and needs some work done on it.We will stay again when we return to KL.

We stayed at the Federal Hotel for...
We stayed at the Federal Hotel for 4 nights. When we booked, we thought we were booking the Deluxe Room which stated sleeps 4. However when we arrived we were told we had to pay for an extra bed. An expence we had not anticipated. We also requested a non smoking room, however we were put onto a smoking floor. The entire floor was filled with smoke as soon as you left the lift. After having a dreadful nights sleep we requested to change rooms and was put onto a non smoking floor later that day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location and close to lots of shopping and only a short walk to China Town. The buffet breakfast was great. Our room had the hardest bed I have ever (tried) to sleep in!! The hotel needs some desperate updating. I think there are a lot of other nicer hotels in the area and better value for money. We would probably not stay there again.

Hotel looks tired, hot breakfast was mostly cold. Didn't appreciate the hotel looking for 175MR for a taxi to the airport when it cost us 90MR for a taxi from the airport to the hotel.
