This was a real bummer...we were not told that the swimming pool and exercise center would be closed and under renavation for the 6 days that we stayed there. If we had known we would have gone to another hotel...we could swim at the Ritz Carlton, their pool is very small and the building next door was under renavtion with all their construction debris around..not a nice way to spend the small amount of time that we had in K.L.

Superb location! You can walk within 20 minutes to Chinatown and within 10 to 15 minutes to the Pertronas Building. Also the shopping Mall's are in walking distance. Very convenient for shopping centres. JW's California Grill is excellent!! Foods, wine, staffs, all of them are perfect. The rooms are spacious with a British colonial decor. Views of twin towers quite nice. Hotel staff was very detached. They were friendly and helpful. I will certainly stay at the Marriott on my next trip to KL.

We are frequent tourists to KL & we usually stay at the big hotel adjacent to the Marriott. The room was large, comfortable & clean but also tired & old. It lacked some of the more modern amenities eg a control panel by the bed to turn off the lights whilst in bed. There was nowhere to place the suitcases for unpacking other than the floor. There was only 1 chair in the room, no sofas. The bathroom was spacious but again the sink could do with modernisation. There was no space to put your own face/body creams, hair products etc. There was no clothes line in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was mediocre in terms of choice & quality. There was a rude waitress making faces at the guests & asking people to leave the restaurant before they had finished breakfast. The concierge staff/porters were the worst, rude, snobbish (we do not wear designer clothes on holiday)& unhelpful. We had to carry our own luggage to the room on check in whilst they stood in the lobby & ignored us. However the front desk staff were pleasant & helpful. Location is fantastic opposite the Pavillion shopping centre.

Everything from facilities, services, value, location ...perfect. Just hope the bathroom is bigger, with more hooks and clothesline somewhere in the bathtub for practicality.

Stayed there for 3 days in mid...
Stayed there for 3 days in mid Feb, 2009. Most of all, thanks to the location of the hotel at the most luxurious part of bukit bintang, you have a minute access to the newly-built Pavillion and Star Hill Gallery(star hill gallery is actually built attached to the hotel as well as the Ritz Carlton(run by the same property company YTL), which can't be any better for shopaholics. The deluxe room was about 90% nicely renovated, leaving the rest 10% of door frame and the bathroom doors, etc to the heritage of this hotel. I also had a Good supply of complimentary bottled waters every day.(3 everyday by average). View facing KL tower and a half of one of the petronas towers(some OTHER twin towers close to the hotel are being built and they already block the view of the most of the petronas. BUT not too bad since the view covers pretty much what it can offer you) was also a plus. Breakfast was not superb considering it has limited choice of main egg dishes and sausages(what they do is you check on the main dishes you wish to have among the list of choices you can have, and you give the slip to the servers). Other menus on the breakfast I would say is quite mediocre. The swimming pool gives you quite abundance of sun, but since the poolside cafe is halfway next to the shore of the pool, you always have guests of the cafe look at you naked. It's a good hotel for at least tourists with urge to shop. LOCATION and the given quality of J.W. Marriott alone are enough for the reason why this hotel must be chosen.

Overall I am happy to stay at this hotel. Centrally located to all the shopping malls and eating places. Hotel staff is very helpful. One disappointing fact is that making international calls from the room is ridiculously expensive and besides the pool side breakfast provided is very limited in choice and monotonous. The menu never changed during my 4 days stay there.
