Functional & Value for what you pay for
Service is above average with some short comings in room service. Perhaps a result of in experienced staff who wheeled up a breakfast spread for 3 pax but only enough cutlery for 1 pax. Milk for the cereal was hot and a bit odd having corn flakes with hot milk.
Loved the free wifi property-wide. Very progressive and well appreciated. The availability of computers with internet connection foc for guests is also a great response to the modern travellers' needs. Its not so much the costs but the convenience of getting wifi for quick checks on where to go, what to do without the hassle of buying credits, getting passwords etc.
Property is probably due for a refurbishment soon to refresh the rooms.

Awesome hotel
Awesome hotel! just opposite pavilion and many area of shopping! Good service provided by the hotel as well! nice scenery view if you asked for city view room.
Good Experience
Hi, overall J W Marriott, KL is a nice place to stay. Centrally located and very easy access to the city. Reaching there thought takes 45 minutes from airport. Food served in the restaurant is amazing and choices are many from italian to chinese to korean cuisine. We are hardcore veg couple and still the chefs manages to cook some amazing stuff for us. I recommend J W Marriott for those who wants to centrally stay in the city, explore best brands and have great food.
Suggestion - settle payment in local currency but get the change outside from hotel if paying in cash.

Staying at a JW Marriott you would...
Staying at a JW Marriott you would expect a certain level of service. I am in no way a painfully fussy person, but even I found the lack of care taken by staff very frustrating ie-
Having to wait two hours to check in when we arrived at 3pm, only to get into our room & spend another 3hours waiting for our luggage to arrive. Yes, the hotel somehow LOST our luggage! They kept ringing every 10 mins asking us to re-describe our belongings to them!
Also-having to ask the waiter 5 times for a cup of coffee before he bothered to bring it. One morning, we'd actually finished our breakfast before the coffee even arrived.
The poor breakfast selection was a great disappointment. We've had better at the 3star Dorsett Regency & of course the Grand Millenium far excedes the standards of his hotel!
Don't bother with this hotel- enjoy the Grand Millenium instead!

The hotel has excellent frontage on to the Bukit Bintang Road, with the nearby Pavillion Mall and the Bukit Bintang mono-rail station being definite pluses. However, the neighbourhood appears to be high end and may not be an ideal location for budget travellers. I would rate this hotel to be in the upper middle to high-end range.
We enjoyed our stay at the JW Marriot as a honeymoon couple after having spent time in Langkawi and thought the hotel was an ideal starting point to begin getting back in the groove of city life after a relaxing and laid back vacation in Langkawi. Another stay at the JW Marriot is definitely on the cards for me.

We are frequent tourists to KL &...
We are frequent tourists to KL & we usually stay at the big hotel adjacent to the Marriott. The room was large, comfortable & clean but also tired & old. It lacked some of the more modern amenities eg a control panel by the bed to turn off the lights whilst in bed. There was nowhere to place the suitcases for unpacking other than the floor. There was only 1 chair in the room, no sofas. The bathroom was spacious but again the sink could do with modernisation. There was no space to put your own face/body creams, hair products etc. There was no clothes line in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was mediocre in terms of choice & quality. There was a rude waitress making faces at the guests & asking people to leave the restaurant before they had finished breakfast. The concierge staff/porters were the worst, rude, snobbish (we do not wear designer clothes on holiday)& unhelpful. We had to carry our own luggage to the room on check in whilst they stood in the lobby & ignored us. However the front desk staff were pleasant & helpful. Location is fantastic opposite the Pavillion shopping centre.

compared to my stay in shanghai and Singapore this hotel was the best. friendly service, always smile on the face, always willing to help a perfect holiday hotel. will recommend to any one.
