I first stayed when the name was...
I first stayed when the name was MahKota, almost 10 years ago. On my this stay, I find many changes. These changes improve our feelings. My family is happy. The cost is reasonable. We do not mind the walking distance to the shopping belt..lot10, time square...The staff are friendly, especially the housekeeping staff. They are well service-oriented.

Cleanliness is perfect, & location good. The room is worth it's value. Breakfast pretty good, but plates not cleared fast enough during B/F buffet. Will recommend for people going KL to stay here.

Having travelled to KL a number of times this was our first stay at the Royale Bintang. We found the location probably the best, being in close proximity to most of the shopping action and central to the other points of interest. The hotel itself was good, the rooms spacious with a great outlook. The pool facilities and gym were also very good. The only downside of our stay was the breakfast. The hotel was very busy with guests and on the first morning quite a long wait had to be endured to actually get into the restaurant. Once finally seated the journey to the buffet was just as arduous, requiring the skills of an NFL linebacker to make it there. Then having felt like a major victory was had reaching the food, you were left gazing at counters which looked like one thousand wild buffalos had just passed by in a feeding frenzy. The following day could only be described as worse. With no line up at the restaurant we were forced by staff to go to a function room where the "exact same" breakfast was being served. Yes this was exactly the same except for no eggs, no chef cooking anything, all the food being cold and being seated in an area that resembled a prison cafeteria. It was just as well we didn't just travel to KL to eat breakfast and apart from this minor issue the rest of our stay was great.

My husband and I stayed at the Royale Bintang at the end of March and found our hotel room and bathroom to be quite nice and spacious. We were disappointed with the quality of the breakfast spread, particularly the shortage of foods later in the morning. The breakfast staff were slow in refilling the foods and slack in their cleaning of the tables once patrons were finished with them. When we wanted to confirm our flight reservations, we were told that the travel service in the lobby was able to assist, but when we met with them we were told that we would incur a fee that was much greater than a cost of a phone call. For us, the hotel location is great and the facilities are 4 stars, but the customer service we experienced was defintely not to standard.

The hotel is in an enviable location in Bukit Bintang, and for a 4-star establishment, it looks even more modern compared to the hotels it has as neighbours.
To make your way to Plaza Lau Yat and Sungei Wang, avoid taking the short cut on both sides of the hotel, as they are not well-lit and I've seen prostitutes plying their trade as well. I usually take the lanes next to Federal Hotel instead.
In addition, the hotel breakfast buffet at the Sunflowers Brasserie can be really packed over the weekend. When I arrived at 1000, there was a snaking queue of 10 guests waiting to enter. However, when you get in, the quality and range of the spread is quite desirable.
Other than these, the hotel is a great 4-star.

The location was very convenient - only a short distance away from Puduraya. Seems to be about equidistant from Puduraya and Bukit Bintang area actually.
Breakfast buffet was decent - wide spread though I've had better elsewhere.
It really was value for money. When I checked in with my sis, they upgraded our room from Standard to Deluxe, so that was a nice surprise!

The facilities are bad and the customer service is even worse. No internet access and etc... No way for me to return back to stay in RB.
