It was a Great stay !
I went to KL over the weekends with my family and really enjoyed my stay at Cititel Express, Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the most friendly and humble staff. Soon after, he confirmed our booking and I got the exact room that I requested for, the Family Room ( Quad Deluxe) with 2 queen size beds, 1 single bed and a non-smoking floor. We arrived at 1.15pm and was told that the room was not ready as it was full house the night before and we had to wait for only 15 mins, which was pretty reasonable as compared to their normal check-in time of 2.00pm ! Our room was at the 16th floor This hotel was previously Stanford Hotel, my parent's usual stay whenever we visit KL, and I am glad that much has been done to revovate, revitalise and revamp this hotel. It is much much better and new now. The toilet was clean. The bedsheets were good though there were some ink stains which I believed couldn't be removed from multi-wash. The interior was clean and well kept. So after unpacking and resting for few minutes, I called the housekeeping to request for extra pillows and was served by one of the most friendly staff in the housekeeping section. I really loved their politeness when answering the call and my personal requests. Besides that, breakfast was good. It starts at 7.00am and we came down at 6.45am to beat the 17 floors of hotel guest. The choices were adequate and satisfying. However, there were some downsides to this hotel. Though the location was not bad, near to monorail, busstop and taxi stand. The sight from my 16th floor room window was bad ! The dirty streets, dirty rooftops of opposite buildings and etc. Ohwell, we left the curtains covered and focused on resting more. At night, the sound of car horns and sirens were pretty annoying too though. But after 12am, it was peace ! For a 3-star hotel, one should not put on high hopes for a marvelous stay. Though there were some cons, the pros were more dominating. Overall, it was a pleasant stay

Good location, less-than-impressive food
The location is not as remote as some make it out to be. Right down town beside a busy night market. Only draw back was the breakfast. Restaurant looked more impressive than the food actually was.

At the Cititel KL
We stayed at the Cititel, yet again. It's a nice hotel, formerly the Stanford Hotel. The hotel offers sound amenities like Internet (Wifi, but must pay RM20 per 24hrs), decent rooms, decent cleanliness, carpark. The rooms are good and reasonably sized, with clean working toilets. The hotel is becoming a family haunt for many, especially those from India these days, although you will find many others from Europe and the region (e.g. Singapore). My experience this time was that kids were running around on the 16th floor (where I was staying) at 1 am! I called the front desk twice before they resolved it. The breakfast was certainly reasonable, with a decent spread like Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai (prata), breads and pastries, noodles, etc. The price is among the most reasonable considering the size of the room. Damn worth it, nonetheless.

Poor Hotel service
The bath towels look bad. No hair shampoo and conditioner. The toilet floor and wall tiles look filthy. The rooms is meant for 4 adults + 2 children but we are given with 4 towels only. No additional towel is given upon request as hotel policy dont allowed this. After many explanation to house keeping and front desk, both department were trying to push me around. What a bad service and poor coordination among them.

Bad Location
Positive:
1) Room was clean.
2) Near to KLCC.
3) Accessible to shopping market.
Negative:
1) Be careful as the place is famous for pick-pocketers and gold snatchers.
2) Not family friendly as the reciption was little rude when I requested for helping me to pick-up the luggages to my room.
3) You should arrange your own taxi. As the travel desk for the hotel charges double the actual price.

Quite enjoyed our stay
We were 4 in a family room and found it very pleasant and comfortable. The staff were all courteous and helpful. Price seemed very good. The breakfast catered to Indian, East Asian and Western tastes and there were many staff making sure tables were quickly cleaned and buffet refilled. The location near Chow Kit is not in the typical tourist zone (taxi drivers were surprised we had ended up there) but is 1/2 block from some large markets and also 1/2 block from a combined grocery/department store.
