It was a Great stay !
I went to KL over the weekends with my family and really enjoyed my stay at Cititel Express, Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the most friendly and humble staff. Soon after, he confirmed our booking and I got the exact room that I requested for, the Family Room ( Quad Deluxe) with 2 queen size beds, 1 single bed and a non-smoking floor. We arrived at 1.15pm and was told that the room was not ready as it was full house the night before and we had to wait for only 15 mins, which was pretty reasonable as compared to their normal check-in time of 2.00pm !
Our room was at the 16th floor This hotel was previously Stanford Hotel, my parent's usual stay whenever we visit KL, and I am glad that much has been done to revovate, revitalise and revamp this hotel. It is much much better and new now. The toilet was clean. The bedsheets were good though there were some ink stains which I believed couldn't be removed from multi-wash. The interior was clean and well kept. So after unpacking and resting for few minutes, I called the housekeeping to request for extra pillows and was served by one of the most friendly staff in the housekeeping section. I really loved their politeness when answering the call and my personal requests. Besides that, breakfast was good. It starts at 7.00am and we came down at 6.45am to beat the 17 floors of hotel guest. The choices were adequate and satisfying.
However, there were some downsides to this hotel. Though the location was not bad, near to monorail, busstop and taxi stand. The sight from my 16th floor room window was bad ! The dirty streets, dirty rooftops of opposite buildings and etc. Ohwell, we left the curtains covered and focused on resting more. At night, the sound of car horns and sirens were pretty annoying too though. But after 12am, it was peace !
For a 3-star hotel, one should not put on high hopes for a marvelous stay. Though there were some cons, the pros were more dominating. Overall, it was a pleasant stay
