50/50
Here is the low down. The hotel is nice but came across some issues with the place. Location is a plus! In between the big shopping malls of Suria and the Pavilion which was great. So, now, first and foremost, the hotel rooms are spacious especially the one facing the front of the hotel entrance. The decor is pleasant but they can do better. Major construction is happening to renovate and upgrade the hotel with extra suites. For example right across the way, a major hotel is being built. Which brings up the gripe I have of the hotel. The pool was closed!! Didn't find this out til, I arrived!! That was a huge disappointment! I had to use the Ascott pool every day which was a bit annoying. The notice in the room upon arrival mentioned it would be closed for the whole month of August but, later to my understanding, the pool would be off limits for most of September as well! Wish I knew that before I booked all those nights?! Now, the flip side of it all is that their spa did a wonderful facial! There was a promo going on during the last few days of the month, so, be sure to ask! You will be pleasantly surprised, despite the fact that the pool may not be up and running in the next month or so... The gym was small but decent to grab some cardio, light yoga moments or just to stretch out your jet lag....Now in terms of food, breakfast was not very good by all means...There is not point getting their bed and breakfast, just go to the nearest chain coffee joint or try the luxury hotel across the way. For the price asked for all the nights I stayed, it was decent. Also, if you need your laundry done, be persistent on getting the receipt or else, they might charge "extra" for a service you didn't request...The staff were helpful and generous though, but, at times, service was slow and other times extremely rushed. That's why I've titled this hotel being 50/50... half and half. Gotta take the good and bad. Depends what you are looking for!
