A place to sleep and refresh and cool down
I chanced upon this hotel whilst going through the Asiarooms website and was attracted to the fact that it just newly opened in December 2011. Knowing hotels in Asia as they get older a bit, services and the quality of accommodation seem to fade in direct proportion to its age ( with exceptions of course ).
Having just opened, at least I was assured of new beds and beddings, fittings and general cleanliness of the rooms. Most important aspects of hotel accommodations in my view.
In that regard, Le Apple was par for the course, however, if we factor in the room sizes, Le Apple definitely is a big disappointment. I stayed in a single room as there were no others available. To be fair to Le Apple, I was shown the room and I took it. But seriously, if you wanted to move around the room, you need to move carefully as there really isn't any room once you bring the suitcase in and a few bags. They could have reduced the size of the shower and toilet combo ( showering wets the whole thing ) to make more room but that's for the builders to consider. I also happen to have the room right next to some sort of generator that made a low hum noise 24/7. I was just tolerant of that fact but that was the luck of the draw. The flat screen TV's audio kindly masked it when turned on.
For the location and a place to sleep and to refresh, Le Apple is perfect. The price is reasonable but for the same price in another location, you will get a bigger room with a queen size bed and better facilities and a restaurant or at least a coffee shop. If functionality defeats experience, perhaps Le Apple will suffice as after all, a holiday is not spent in the rooms but out of it. Will stay here again if I get the bigger room as the staff are so friendly and everything is just around the corner literally. Le Apple is right in the middle of high priced hotels and shopping malls and food hawkers. And yes, the bed and beddings were new, clean, and very comfortable.
