The hotel was a bit far away from the main area of town, but the rate included breakfast, the room was a great size and was clean and the service was good.
1. The locality of the hotel is not strategic for a first timer visitor to Kuching. It is more suitable for local people to stay or to come for conventions or seminars.
2. Service - Need to improve. Hotel staff should be more knowledgeable and able to guide or assist guest. During my stay, the front office unable to give good information about Kucing. The service were not courteous and warm enough. Waitress at the restaurant were not polite. To train them for higher skill communications with hotel guests.
Value for money! location is strategic - within reach of most places, if u don't mind a little walk .. to the water front, to the shopping centres,etc. and food... ah, crucial to a traveller... food (including Sarawak specialities) is available within 3 minutes walk from the hotel. One request though - the hotel should be more creative with their breakfast menu ... that was disappointing!!!
We stayed at The Grand Continental Hotel Kuching for 4 nights and found it to be a great experience. The central location and helpful staff were the stand out features. Bathrooms and the variety of restaurant food need some attention to bring these areas up to scratch.
