The hotel location was very good and you didn't have to cross the road to get to the riverside walk. The hotel staff were friendly, particularly with children and some did remember their name. The negatives were that the room looked tired and old, but with the hotel updating one of its two wings, I would hope they will also update the other wing as the rooms need it. The biggest issue was the fact housekeeping left our room unlocked when they had finished and when reported the deputy manager did not seem too concerned and remained standing while talking to us while we were seated. They did check the entry pad, but with the room unlocked no one would have needed a key to enter. Apart from a sorry, the hotel did nothing to make up for this major lapse in security. Unlike some hotels, this hotel also has no security on the lifts so anyone could walk into the hotel and up to the rooms without requiring a room key.
