IT NEED TO FIGHT FOR THE DELUXE SEAVIEW ROOM AS CHECK IN DELUXE ROOM PROVIDED FOR US, WHICH AT LATE EVENING THEY AGREE TO MOVE OUR ROOM
THE BATHROOM AMENITIES HAS BASIC ITEMS ONLY.
THE BREAKFAST ARE VERY NORMAL AND NOT TO MUCH TO OFFER.
THE TWO TENNIS COURT AT RECREATION FACILITIES HAS CLOSED, WHICH AT LEAST ONE COURT CAN OPEN FOR THE GUEST IF PROPERLY CLEANING THE COURT ARE REQUIRED AS THE OTHER ONE HAS BEEN SERVED AS STORAGE.
MY CONCLUSION IS THE VALUE ARE FAR AWAY FOR 5 STAR RATED RESORT WHICH FUN AND ENJOYMENT ARE EXPECTED.
THE MANAGEMENT HAS TO LOOK MORE FOR THE STAFF EXCUSES.

This hotel has lots of potential. It is in a perfect setting. It has been refurbised and is nearly completed. We booked a club room package. As the clubroom is not there we had drinks and breakfast with everyone else. Fortunately the hotel was not busy. The spa is also incomplete so there was a 30% discount for everyone- we had some hassle to get our extra 10% but succeeded.
There is an adult pool and very good childrens' pool. Unfotunately it is not regulated and so there were children in the adult pool. They have some great sunbeds but not enough if the hotel is busy.
I really don't know why they are offering clubrooms because there is no difference between them and other rooms.5-7 is happy hour and drinks are half price.
So unless you are a heavy drinker it is not worth it!
The staff were helpful but we did not get any more persoanlised service than anyone else. The food is average.
If you live in Singapore it is a great place to go for the weeekend.

GENERALY HAPPY WITH DAMAI PURI. SETTING IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE FOOD CANNOT BE FAULTED. WE USED SOME SPA TREATMENTS DURING OUR STAY WHICH WERE VERY ENJOYABLE.
DOWNSIDE IS THAT THE HOTEL HAS AN UNFINISHED FEEL. OUR ROOM WAS MISSING WELCOME PACK, SLIPPERS, TOILET ROLL AND DO NOT DISTURB NOTICES. STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY, BUT NOT ALWAYS HELPFUL - I THINK MANY WERE NEW. THE AIRCON IN THE MAIN RESTAURANT DID NOT WORK VERY WELL.
THESE ARE SMALL CRITICISMS AND WE WILL CERTAINLY CONSIDER DAMAI PURI AGAIN.

The hotel is very new and they are still renovating although there is no disruption to the guests. The pools were amazing especially for children. The beach was well located and very clean. If i could say one thing is that the service for food was very slow but this is a relaxing beach resort so it didnt spoil the holiday. The welcome was very nice , they picked us up as we headed to the wrong resort. Its walking distance to the cultural village which was great, very interesting especially the live performances. Overall it was a pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings.

Very relaxing, tropicalparadise atmosphere, however the resort seems like in a state of constant decay continuing last years, interiors & facilities needs concrete renovation, rooms looking a beat cheerless & outdated.
Hotel's quite deserted as on my opinion the occupancy was only 10-15%.
However the view from rooms & lagoon beach are excellent. Service very attentive & warming. Breakfast - definitely abundant & yummy (especially Malay dishes).
Could be recommended. Rates more than affordable.

Hotel is peaceful and quite and beach is also very nice. Swimming pool is very good too. Food is good, staff are friendly. However, transport arrangement is a bit of a nightmare, as we went with hotel transport to the golf course twice, and it took us more than 45 mins of waiting both time for pick up to be arrived on the return trip. If anyone require a taxi to the airport, it took 1 hour for taxi to arrive to the hotel for pick up, so be prepared to make arrangement ealier. The gym equipment is very out-dated, never see a manual treadmill before, so for gym person, just forget about the gym.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are a bit worn down, needs a bit of a touch up. If you want to hang around the beach throughout your stay in kuching then it is alright to stay here but if you want to see more of kuching city, the bus trip to the city is approximately 30 to 45 minutes. I think the hotel is a bit pricey but compared to Damai Beach Hotel, this hotel is anytime better and not as overcrowded as Damai Beach. So, next time, I will spend 2 nights in the city (Holiday Inn) and 3 nights in this hotel. Hopefully they give a better rate . :o)
