We spent a week at the Andaman...
We spent a week at the Andaman Langkawi in June 2005 and had the most amazing time there. We got upgraded to a Lanai Room which was stunning, the view stretched over the Datai Bay with little islands dotting the horizon! The monkeys would come out at dusk to be fed and sometimes would jump up onto the veranda and peer through the window to try and entice you to feed them - little devils! The three restaurants at the hotel were lovely, the main Restaurant is more meditearrean cuisine and was very nice and the Gulai House is very special indeed, set in the rainforest about a five minute walk through the trees. We had a private table where you sit on the floor and have the muslin curtains drawn - so romantic!! My boyfriend proposed to me there so it will always hold a special place in my heart now! The food was gorgeous traditional Malay cuisine, but the portions weren't huge so bear that in mind when ordering!
The Thai Pavillion at the Datai is the best - food, service and setting out of this world! We went twice as we loved it so much, and they have a great set deal which is huge so you get loads of food and rice!
The pool at the Andaman hotel Langkawi is beautiful, big and good for kids.
All in all our holiday there was luxurious and enjoyable. We used the spa twice and it was dreamy and wonderful, you must try and Aromatherapy massage!!
Make sure you go here rather than the Four Seasons, the cement factory you can see from the four seasons is massive and a real eyesore!
