Andaman Langkawi
This is a first class establishment and it was perfect for the 2nd part of our family holiday on Langkawi with our 4 & 6 year olds. The staff are very friendly, professional & helpful, always with a smile. The entrance/foyer is something else, the rooms were fine.
The pool is big & interesting, with a range of depths and has safe areas for all ages. It is not for serious fitness swimming, but there is the sea for that.
If on a room only deal, the "one price" restaurant breakfast favours those who like to eat a lot at that time. There is a good scheme for kids meals when they eat with adults. Great 3 piece acoustic band at evening meal times who come round and play just about any song you ask for.
The location is great, tucked into the Datai Bay, with a long road which only leads to this place and the Datai. We kayaked & swam to the little island in the bay.
There is some nearby construction going on, golf course related I think, didn't affect us at all.
There is wildlife here, (do the nature walk), most of it keeps itself to itself but you are warned that the macaques have been known to nip in to rooms looking for food. This didn't happen to us.
It is difficult to leave the place but it is also worth getting out & about around Langkawi - eg. GeoPark, Cable car, sunset from Cenang beach and night market.

Wonderful stay
A wonderful hotel, far away in the jungle of Langkawi island with à lovely private beach surrounded by wild nature. Expensive but worth it !

A beautiful hotel with lovely friendly staff, who always had a smile for you. The little extras on the beach made our stay so special….the cold towels, the frozen fruit and the iced water. I fell in love with the wonderful Dusky leaf monkeys who appeared every day. The beach has a shallow slope and the water is warm. Breakfast is great with so much to choose from. Evening menu gets a bit repetitive if you stay for 10 days as we did. The Datai nearby is good for a change, especially the Thai restaurant. The local fisherman sells his catch everyday at 4.00 - 4.30 pm, we had grilled Red Snapper cooked in Asian spices twice, and it was amazing both times. All in all a wonderful place and I would definitely go again and would recommend it to both couples and families.
Quite simply the best holiday we have had in years, stunning location, great customer service and excellent facilities.The staff were also extremely helpful and kind with the children. It was also very refreshing to be offered nice little complimentary extras such as bottles of water by the pool and even sunglass cleaning. The Spa was fabulous! Set up in the rainforest and overlooking the 9th best beach in the world! This a holiday destination we would definitely go back to.
The hotel is too remote & too far from the rest of the resorts & town
We had the most wonderful stay at the Andaman hotel. The room was very clean, the interior design was amazing. We had a spectacular view of both tropical rainforest and seaside, in the evening we can even hear the sound of the ocean. The swimming pool was gorgeous, which enable us to spend a whole day there without getting bored. The only downside was the hotel was slightly far from everywhere. However, the beautiful surrounding and classy atmosphere of Andaman has made our trip to langkawi very special indeed.
A great mini break!
First impression was that it was a stunning location set among the rain forest and close to the sea. The Andaman was just a wonderful place to relax and refresh, the accommodations, the customer service, the food, the spa everything about it was just great, would recommend it highly and most definitely would come back again! We stayed for 4 nights anything less would have been a shame!

My husband and I stayed at the Andaman to celebrate our 15th anniversary and we just loved it (the romantic dinner on the beach is a luxury not to be missed)! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the hotel and surrounds are so clean and well maintained (they even rake the beach every morning). It is located on an exclusive beached shared only with the Datai but if you want to go to Kuah (20 mins away) or any other sites, cars and vans are always on hand with drivers who will take you anywhere, wait for you then take you back (cheaper when organised through the transport desk than with the concierge). I highly recommend having dinner at the Gulai House between the two hotels too!! We travelled with a family who have two infants and it was equally as perfect for them. All the staff loved the children and soon greeted them by name and went out of their way to make sure they were comfortable. Breakfast is a buffet with an amazing array of international choices. When converted back to Aussie dollars, the whole experience is luxury at really reasonable prices. I would go back tomorrow if I could and there is nowhere else I would want to stay on Langkawi than The Andaman, it's perfect!!!
