The smell in the room was musty,...
The smell in the room was musty, damp. Carpets looked worn and tired. Not much variety in the Buffet Breakfast. Overall the stay was pleasant and the hotel is very central.

The hotel was in a very good...
The hotel was in a very good location, the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was kept in wonderful condition. We enjoyed mixing with the many nationalities at breakfast. Whilst basically Asian food, the breakfast was quite adequate and plentiful. We would stop again if in Langkawi.

great hotel.slept really well on huge bed.pity about location.kuah town has nothing to do in it.book your room as a stopover only,rent a car & find somewhere else to stay.pantai cenang a good bet.

We stayed at the Bayview for 4...
We stayed at the Bayview for 4 nights. The room was equipped with state-of-the-art combined remote control for light, TV and air-condition. All devices worked well and room maids were reliable. The staff at the reception was very experienced and friendly. The asian/western breakfast was tasty and the composition varied slighly from day to day.

Though everything seems to be okay, I dont find it quite okay. Though I had opted for a double bed room, they didnt manage to give me one and also they said no more rooms with double beds were available. Being a family with a kid, I had settle down for combining the twin bed together. The accessories like the foot wear were not available. But the room size and cleanliness was up to the mark. Nothing to shout about the Ocean view of the building, as the beach side of that particular area was not so nice looking. For 100 SGD, I expect more.

The Hotel is located in the town...
The Hotel is located in the town of Kuah only 5 Minutes from the jetty but 1/2h from the airport. There are many tourists (as everywhere in Langkawi), but in a much better balance, i.e. also many Malaysians. The close-by shopping district & night market perspire a little more "truly-Asia" feeling than the hotel strings elsewhere on the island. The nicest beaches though are on the other end of the island. They can be reached by taxi for about 20-30 RM. The hotel has a travel agent in the lobby where guided tours by boat & bus can be booked. Reception-Staff is friendly & helpful. More functional than romantic, but OK for a first touchdown and cheaper than most of the tourist hotels at the nice beaches.

I find that the room is very...
I find that the room is very spacious and I got a very good seaview that is facing Dayang Bunting. Only set-back is the food at the restaurant. It did not offered very wide selections and the food that we tried were not tasty at all. The price is equivalent of those 5 star hotels that I have stayed in Malaysia. Breakfast selection very limited and that was the reason why I stayed away from lunch or dinner buffets there. But overall for the price that I paid, I think it is still reasonable given its location, space and cleanliness. You can basically shop around the hotel vicinity without having to drive.
