Amazing stay - Private Beach - Will go again!
The hotel is located right at the edge of the beach. In fact, it has its own private beach !!
The stay started with a quick service at the reception. We were shown our way to the deluxe room which was only about 40 meters from the beach itself. The room was pretty big and was very comfortable. It had a small terrace to sit, relax and enjoy the view. There was a bed-like couch for a third person to sleep as well. The bathroom was neat with ample supply of hot water.
The beach was pretty amazing! It had some water sports to keep busy and some very nice restaurants/bars .. Exclusively for hotel guests. The view was very scenic and was worth the money we paid. The swimming pool of the hotel was very nice and relaxing. Poolside chairs were very comfortable as well.
Lots of nice located outside the hotel. There was a Russian restaurant, a couple of Indian ones and lots of western cafe/coffee shops. The taxi stand is located inside the hotel and that was very convenient as well.
All in all, a perfect stay and we would surely be definitely be going back on our next trip!

Value for Money, Nice Pool, Nice staffs
I booked Federal Villa and I read thro' the comments here earlier, therefore I knew we need to find a hotel named "Holiday Villa Hotel" instead.
Check-in take you quite a long period of time and it's not fun to stay in the hall with mosquito attack and hot weather.
I was very surprise that they upgraded me to Holiday Villa and the room is very big and location is nice. Coz it's very closed to the pool and on the Ground Floor. The front desk staff explained to me, I have remarked that I brought along 2 little tots together, therefore they upgrade me to a room which is better accessibility.
Be honest, the staffs are very nice. Everyone is helpful. I bring along 2 little one there and they really help me a lot.
The Pool is fabalous and we stay at the pool most of the time.
Must rent a car if u have a vaild driving license. Langkawi is a place with duty free, Gasoline just cost u not more than USD1 per litre. Parking is easy, just drop your car anywhere on the roadside if there is space available. No parking fee needed. Same as Phuket.
Driving from airport to hotel just take u 20 mins with no hassle coz it's the only big main road to follow. And follow the roadsign therefore u will not go to the wrong direction.

Made a late booking to visit Langkawi and it paid off. Hotel in great location staff so friendly. Great place to forget what you left back home.

Rest and Relax @ Beach Area
Have stayed at Holiday Villa and Federal is part of their subsidiary. Reasonable price to stay with access to Beach Area. Swimming pool with jacuzzi. Opposite have few restaurant have nice and tasty seafood. Will stay in this hotel again...either Holiday Villa or Federal.
Excellent Value for money but not for families.
The rooms for a couple were fantastic. They were big, clean and close to beach. The bathroom was ok, the shower worked but slightly small. The room within the Federal Villa is only a short stroll to Holiday Villa pool and closer to the beach.
We went with a family of 2 and 2, they booked an apartment. Dont bother, absolute disgrace. 2 tiny bedrooms, kitchen big with no, yes, NO utensils! They changed to two rooms and were very happy. The food around the pool is great but slightly more expensive than you would pay outside the hotel.
Breakfast is not included but dont worry, you can walk outside and directly across the road is a restaurant called "Cactus" which serves really cheap brekkies. Around $3 aussie for bamana pancakes incl. coffee. One minute up the road was a little coffee shop that did breakfast and included free wifi. You could also head into the main town for 9 ringitt and get a cheap breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are into watersports, head into town for much cheaper prices than found on Holiday Villa/ Federal Villa beach. An example is the Parasailing 90 ringitt at the Villa's, 50 ringitt in town.
If you want to go to cable car, go on a clear day. It is sensational and inexpensive. The other tour we did was the Sailing BBQ Dinner cruise. Very nice and worth every cent.
Overall, this Hotel should not be overlooked as it is very inexpensive if you book with Asia Rooms. We paid 210 ringitt per night. Our friends booked through Wotif and paid 550 ringitt per night!!

Good.. bad & lil bit ugly, but mostly good
Well first off double room, means two beds stuck together with separate sheets, for those couples who don't mind spooning on a bed that is slightly wider than a single your sweet!
Unfortunately the room we stayed in had a massive leak, and we aslo had to switch rooms because of continuous black outs (don't use the phrase power out, as they will confuse it as loosing your towel)
The food was very delicious, however slightly overpriced (but to be expected), don't get the breakfast buffet if it isn't complimentary, walk down the road & get a cheaper breakfast.
The pool rocked!
The overall the place was quiet, relaxing & very family orientated (lots to do for the kids).
