My new husband and I stayed at the Holiday Villa in March 2007, after travelling around Malaysia for a few weeks on our honeymoon.
Holiday Villa is large, which was a little overwhelming at first, considering we usually stay in more boutique/intimate places, but we got used to it after a while.
The location on Langkawi was perfect. Close to the action of the Pantai Cenang, but far enough away with a lovely clean beach. The pool area is huge and there are lots of beach activities.
We were given complimentary fresh fruits during our stay and the service was good with lots of friendly staff to assist you. The buffet breakfast was great - good variety and plenty of international food.
The room (standard was fine) very clean and comfortable and plenty of room. My only issue with the room is that, whilst it had a sea view, it faced some wetlands that smelt and therefore we never used the balcony or had the door open(too smelly). We didn't realise until day 2 and felt it was too late to request a different room.
I would recommend that if you choose to stay at Holiday Villa, ensure your room does not face the smelly wetlands!!
