Well Run,Friendly,Pleasent resort.
Family orientated hotel with large swimming pool right on clean beach for swimming. Restaurants close by for evening meal. Friendly staff and locals. Fixed price taxis all over the island so hassle free from haggling. Room decent enough.Plenty of sunbeds around great swimming pool. Hotel recommended for couples and families.

Strange price for a luxurious 'hostel'
This hotel is a big mistake. I believe that it used to be luxurious and well organised but they should have redesigned or maintained the building 20 years ago. It's very dirty, the building is expired and I believe this hotel is more inconvenient then most hostels. For examples the showerhead was attached to the the wall at the height of 1.70m (too low for most Caucasians), the television had just 6 channels and in a twin room you will find only one little bottle of water in the minibar. I have many examples but don't want to take away the fun.
A few positive things. The staff is friendly, the pictures on the website are splendid and there is lots to laugh about with the other guest who are searching for the value for their money too.

Room need renovation
Just come back from Langkawi and we stay at 3 nights. The swimming pool is good with big size, difference depth for child and adult. The room seems "outdate" and need renovation. Find some dust on floor. At bathroom, the bathtub drainage system need repair, always have water on it after take bath. The receptionist and hotel staff never say "good morning/afternoon/night" No need to eat at hotel restaurant , just go to oppsite and have a good restaurant for breakfast .The price for this hotel is just "reasonable"

Feedback
Not value for money, we are lucky i guess to have a room "problem-free" as we have heard countless guests complains throughout our stay there. Bathroom leak, aircon noisy/ not functioning properly, musky smelling etc. Ours was alright, except the aircon was noisy, thank goodness we brought ear plugs along. Location was not too bad though, with many restaurants nearby at much lower cost thus need not dine in hotel. However we did try the hotel breakfast 1 day but felt it was overpriced given the selection available. Verdict, go only if u fancy location/ convenience.

If you're looking for a no frills accomodation this is good. Pool is lovely but room service stinks. It took me 3 days and 4 requests before I finally received tea bags. Air conditioning stayed on high and temperature could not be altered. I paid for Deluxe room but it wasn't as good as one friend who paid for standard and another who paid for standard and was upgraded to Deluxe which kind of put a negative on the experience right from the start.

To be honest i was disappointed with The Holiday Villa. The location and facilities (pool) were great, we were close to some fabulous restaurants and the beach was nice, however the staff at the front desk were unfriendly and particulary unhelpful. They didn't smile or even say thank-you when we paid and left. The rooms were clean enough, but you could hear every noise and the plumbing from the other rooms. The pool did not have a child free section, so even at the pool bar there were children splashing and playing. Overall I would not recommend The Holiday Villa unless you are not actually planning on spending any time at the hotel.

Enjoyable stay
We arrived at 2pm to find our room not ready as it was still being serviced. However, a complimentary cold drink and a place to wait made up for that. This was the only fault in an otherwise most enjoyable stay at a very pleasant hotel. It is a little middle-aged but because of this the room was of a good size compared with some newer hotels. The room was in good condition and clean. The water pressure could fluctuate sometimes (very little cold water) when lots of showers were being used at the end of a days swimming. At other times of the day the shower was good. The air conditioning was very efficient and reasonably quiet. The staff were excellent - always friendly and willing to help. We only dined once at the hotel (in the Italian restaurant) and were impressed with the quality of the food, the service and the good value. Our package did not include breakfast which was not a problem as there are many eateries nearby. The pool was large and spotlessly clean. The hotel has its own beach front which was free of rubbish and patrolled most days. There were plenty of loungers at both the pool and beach (in July). Overall this hotel left a very favourable impression and we would stay again.

Langkawi Holiday Villa
Great Beach and wonderful Pool but terrible resort with the unfriendliest staff we have ever encountered. In fact, even the taxi drivers weren't friendly either! Restaurants were overpriced and breakfast buffet was disastrous. Great restaurants across the street include Cactus and Sheela's!!!
