Great beach location
This was our first visit to Langkawi and the Frangipani was a great place to stay. We had a private garden chalet with good air conditioning and pleasant outside shower was a nice touch. Great beach location with lovely bar where we regularly sat on the boat watching the sunsets. There was a good selection of food for breakfast but the options were quite basic and the majority of dishes were hot Western - we would have liked some more Asian influenced dishes. There were plenty of good restaurants and a couple of great bars within easy walking distance of the resort. The Frangipani is near the airport but not disturbed by it. We had a great time here and would recommend the Frangipani to others.

Stay at the Frangipani
We had a fabulous stay at the resort thanks to Asia Rooms great rates. It was the perfect spot, private beach yet close to all the nightlife of Langkawi. Could not ask for a better hotel and location. Will definitely go there again.

Awesome
Beautiful hotel, much nicer as on the pictures. Nice gardens, friendly staff, nice rooms. Just the bathroom could be better, no ventilation. No lizards in the room, only once.
What I did not like it JELLY FISH warning and red flags on the beach all the time..
No bus, just taxi in the hotel.. Nice breakfast, yummy breakfast, lots of to choose from. menu in the restaurant is Ok, but everything very expensive,outside hotel, just 300m on left side you can find lots of nice and much cheapest restaurants. Nice hotel, romantic for couples, save and relaxing for families...clean and beautiful.Langkawi is nice and peaceful place. I love it.

Nice Hotel & Beach
A very nice Hotel. It has a huge land area and not many people staying in this season. Great sunset view. There is a taxi stand outside the hotel, quite convenient. If you rented a car, there are many parking lots in the premises.The tap is not working very well, resulted water pressure was low. Aircon Ok, Breakfast good, got fried rice, fried noodle and nasi lemak during our 3 days stay.

After travelling around malaysia for 6 weeks this was a small bit of paradise and a bit of relaxation, very friendly staff. the new spa opened during our stay " massage by harry, fantastic" i recommend everyone tries it.
Lovely beach with plenty of room so never felt crowded even though the hotel was full at the time. i will return.

Impression of the resort and rooms were below our expectations and we were disappointed with value for money.
Disappointments:
The beds are ROCK hard and this is regardless of whether you choose a superior or standard. Superior rooms are closer to the beach. You will find two singles pushed together to make one big bed with separate sheets for each bed.
The hotel restaurant menu is poor! We chose to eat at other resorts namely Casa Del Mar which has amazing food at the same price as Frangipani.
Room service often comes with a charge i.e. we were charged for champagne bucket and ice. Sometimes room service doesn't happen at all - "because we do not have enough staff." However this was not communicated right from the first phone call. It took 4 phone calls from me made more difficult with reduced english from staff's behalf (understanding and spoken) to establish this was why they couldn't provide room service so we had to get what we wanted ourselves.
Bar has limited cocktail list (when compared to a resort like Casa Del Mar
Watch out for varying prices and make sure you understand what is included in "compulsory" dinners etc i.e. if you are visiting during xmas/NY or other festival/celebrations throughout the year.
Many of the beach lounges were missing rubber bits. They don'd lay completely flat and the towels provided barely cover half the lounge so the mattress can get very hot.
Positives:
Breakfast was fairly good although repetitive.
Seemed popular place for families.
Pool nice
Gorgeous beachfront setting
If you can afford a little bit extra we recommend staying at Casa Del Mar (couples) or Meritus Pelangi Beach Resoort and spa. Jet ski tours of islands also highly recommended
Enjoy your travels at Langkawi!! It is a beautiful place with a very relaxing atmosphere
