nice place great pool but rooms could be better.. not that they were bad they are clean spacious and well equiped just perhaps a little dated. pool is this hotels bet feature even if you dont end up staying here go have a look.. there is better acc on the island.. make sure you eat at casa del mar dinner one night its brilliant.

Got a shock at the first room shown with lino on the shower floor, no balcony and dark, but were given a 3rd floor room with a tiled bathroom and a sunny garden/sea view. No lift and no offer to help with luggage. But we ended up having a great stay. The pool was great, very clean and roomy. The best part was the beach bar with a happy hour but beer and cocktails were good value at anytime. We eat at the bar 3 nights. Food cheap and tasty.The sunsets were amazing. The beach was lovely, clean white sand but a bit wary about the jelly fish though august is the most risky time apparently. Taxis's were cheap $2 to get to Chenang beach.$9 to get to the cable car to enjoy the spectactular views. A really relaxing stay and would return.

They need to renovate several rooms. the...
They need to renovate several rooms. the bath room is not classy and clean as I expected. no curtain, drainage not properly maintained, even 4 times power shortage. For the room rate, it's not absolutely worth-ed.

Before our stay at the Lanai we...
Before our stay at the Lanai we had read mixed reviews but after our stay of 10 nights, we can only say it was fantastic. Sure the hotel is not 5 star but you aren't paying 5 star prices. The Lanai is a little 'tired' but what you get is a relaxed atmosphere, right on the beach and only a short stroll to great, cheap restaurants and the main streets of Langkawi. The rooms were always clean, the pool sparkling, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you want pampering and luxury, stay somewhere else, but if you want fun, relaxation and a great holiday with friends or family, the Lanai is the place. We would definitely stay there again.

The bedroom (335)is small, the movie channel(2)...
The bedroom (335)is small, the movie channel(2) does not display any picture only audio. The bathroom has cracked floow tiles. Suggest that the hotel to provide soap as another option instead of just shower gel. Cord to the electric jug is too short as a result need to stand it on the floor. Insuffieicent clothes hangers in cupboard. If the amount of stairs to climb, I would have thought a porter services would be provided especially for older clients and females. The breakfast buffet has very limited choices. The good redeeming features is the restaurant at the beach which have good varieties of selection in the menu and the staff are extremely hospitalable. The rate was not value for money especially with similar rate you can get better facilities in Penang, Bangkok and even KL.

The hotel was okay overall. The room was basic but quite spacious. No lift. Breakfast was okay. Room service good but not the reception which was a bit slow. Have nice beach and close to eatery.

This hotel is value for money, has...
This hotel is value for money, has all the is a minimum requirement. Rooms were clean, well kept. 5 mins from Cenang town and 20min to main Kuah town. Taxis are easily available. Breakfast was good too. Was not a great restaurant but can manage. Only missing thing is lift(has only 1st and 2nd floor though). We had big and heavy baggage, and a kid; had to toil hard to carry to 2nd floor. There is no room service but it was fine with us. I recommend this for a budget conscious but still need good stay.

Stayed with my family at Lanai for...
Stayed with my family at Lanai for 2 nights middle of April. Check in was a breeze.The hotel sits right on Tengah beach. Water sports like jet ski, parasailing are available nearby. Stayed at Room # 211, 213, with an inter connecting door. The rooms had a great view of the pool. The rooms didnt have a balcony but the huge windows made up for the lack of balcony. The free form swimming pool was a hit with my children. The included western buffet breakfast was sumptuous. Lots of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel staff booked Pulau Payar snorkeling trip at discounted rates. The downside to Lanai was the bathroom. Very basic. Couldnt close the sliding door to the shower cubicle. The bath gel ( no bar soap ) was substandard. There are no lifts or bell boy, so had to carry my luggages to the room. Wouldnt hesitate to stay at Lanai if my travel plan brings me back to Langkawi.
