We found the room to be quite...
We found the room to be quite good, but the bathroom is in need of a major overhaul. Water was cold in the shower and a good scrub would not hurt it. But overall we found the facilities good, nice relaxing pool area, being in a nice location close to the beach with the beach bar restaurant. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Very warmly and friendly staff. The facilities are family style, so it's wonderful place for family and lovers. The beach is clean and quite, not crowd of people. The location of the hotel is quite OK, not so noisy, and with a short distance to the busy street and shop. The pool is extremely clean and beautiful.

After reading some pretty bad reviews about...
After reading some pretty bad reviews about the Lanai we were worried what we would check in to see. Fortunately we had a great check in - which was after 9pm at night - the staff were efficient and friendly. The room was large size, bathroom a bit mouldy in places and the shower really only dribbled out, bed quite hard and the air conditioner was rather noisy. However, the pool was lovely and clean, the position on the beach was nice- at the far end of Pantai Tengah and relaxing and quiet. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and the happy hour at the beach bar had free peanuts. On our way back from Thailand we decided to stay at the Lanai again as we'd already walked and driven past other accommodation in Langkawi and for the position and the price it didn't seem like we would be able to match the Lanai. We were given a different room type the second time - deluxe with a balcony, really comfy pillows, much better shower, quiet air conditioner, fridge. We would stay here again and recommend it to others - the deluxe room is much better than the standard and the price of a room with a balcony is the same price as one without - so make sure to request one.

Though I read some unfavourable comments of...
Though I read some unfavourable comments of the hotel,I still came for 4 days for my 61st birthday with my wife as the price was reseanble.I think much could be done to make the hotel a better place for everybody but as the past comments said,it was quite dismay.They have the facilities in place but the management didn't do anything to enchance it.What a waste.You can stay there,but go out to have fun which is near by luckily.

WE WERE PLEASED WITH THE LOCATION OF THIS H0TEL RIGHT ON THE BEACH. THIS WAS ITS BEST FEATURE ALTHOUGH THE POOL AREA WAS VERY PLEASANT. THE BEACH BAR OFFERED A GOOD SERVICE ALTHOUGH IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HAVE A COFFEE IN THE HOTEL ITSELF- A MINOR DETAIL THOUGH. THE LOCATION WAS OK-WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF A WHOLE RANGE OF RESTAURANTS. WE WOULD RECOMMEND IT.

Beach is not too crowded - good...
Beach is not too crowded - good for casual swim and water sports. Breakfast is of limited variety, but at least different dishes everyday. Taxi service is available at hotel reception - counter staff will call for taxi to come. Bathroom is old and shabby-looking though necessary toiletries are available. Bedsheets has ants! You can wake up and see buffaloes outside your window! Suitable for budget travelers who just need a place to sleep and bath.

This resort is not a resort, it...
This resort is not a resort, it is a poor quality minus star hotel, the room was dirty, small, bed only and 1 side table, no chair, the bathroom was a disgrace. No hot water at basin and the shower had a trickle of water, you had to step over the toilet to get to the shower. the continental breakfast had 6 stale danish, some bread for toast, cereal, a little fruit terrible coffee. We stayed only 1 night and left it was soooo! bad. The staff were rude and when I requested another room just ignored us. When I said we were leaving they just talked and laughed to each other in their own language. Stay away from this hotel, the worse i have seen in all my travels of over 40 years

We visited Langkawi in 2008 July and...
We visited Langkawi in 2008 July and again same time 2009. The location of the hotel is good and is close to the market area, restaurants and water sports activities. However, we found the hotel condition to be deteriorated as compared to last year. The paint was coming off the walls. The bathrooms in addition to being small were not maintained and issues like faulty flush, broken shower cubicle and presence of lizards in rooms were common issues. Seems the hotl is not being maintained well. Also the resort is not as gorgeous as it looks on net. Would not opt for it next time as it is not value for money.
