Perfect hotel if you want peace and...
Perfect hotel if you want peace and quiet. First impression is that the hotel rooms, beach chairs etc. are old and worn, but Tanjung Sanctuary grew on me. The wildlife (birds, monkeys and moniters) is a big plus.

This resort is ideal for people who...
This resort is ideal for people who want to get away from it all. It is in the most beautiful location, with nice, spacious bungalows facing on to a lovely secluded beach with plenty of wildlife. The big downsides, though, are the atrocious service from the unfriendly staff and the lack of decent facilities. The food isn't great - head to nearby Pantai Kok or Pantai Cenang. This hotel is very interesting, many monkeys...
This hotel is very interesting, many monkeys is outside the hotel every morning, because the hotel location is near a forest. The beach is very nice and beautiful, althrough it is not too big. There are many sea star and small fish that you can see in the beach. The room seems very old but I like this traditional style and the size is large and the bed is comfortable. You can have the breakfast in front of the sea and have a nice view, very relax... The pool is not good for swimming because the water is not very clean and the size is small. I suggest you may rent a car if you really want to live in this hotel, because it is a little bit far away from the main beach and Kuah, but this is not the problem if u drive by yourself.

It was absolutely lovely!! Monkeys on your balcony, lizards in the beach, marvellous. Such a gorgeous location too! a bit far away from anything else but you know taxis are cheap as chips so who cares!! We had a smashing time! I'd recommend highly.

Best part about the resort is the...
Best part about the resort is the spacious rooms. Hotel has its own private white sand beach. Ideal location. Beautiful landscape and peaceful setting yet only 10 minutes drive from the happening Pantai Cenang area. Ideal location for travellers who seek desire a peaceful holiday full of leisure and relaxation

Overall excellent stay. However, the only surprising and slightly irritating thing is that the hotel provides no drinking water in the room! Otherwise it is an excellent hotel with a great location and very good rooms to go with a lovely little private beach.

At first I was disappointed that the room was so old looking rather like a victorian railway station on stilts, but it grows on you.huge rooms and seprate bath tub and shower.not good if you want to go on tours as the pickup bus is too big to enter complex you are requesated to walk about 1km to the main gate on the main road and wait. the hotel hires motor scooters but very expensive.I would recommend you hire car from airport many desks are cheaper than booking on internet.

Biggest room I've stayed in as it's...
Biggest room I've stayed in as it's like a whole house except for lack of a kictchen. Bathroom is huge also. Wooden floors (clean), not carpeted except for coffee table area. Nice but tv could be bigger as set was quite far away from the couch. Beautiful private beach in bay by side of hotel. Saw the sunset from the beach. Can rent out canoe or sailboat. Not sure exactly what facilities they have as had only use their computer to read my email. But staff are nice and friendly. At breakfast, saw two huge iguanas and a couple of monkeys. Some bread were thrown down and one of the iguanas went over and stood guard over it, though it did not eat any of the bread. One monkey came and snatched a slice of bread from almost right under its mouth! Very romantic place.

Was a great experience to stay in...
Was a great experience to stay in the palatial rooms at Tanjung Sanctuary . The setting is beautiful : walking through the deep woods to the pristine beache was amazing. Downside : Rooms were a bit old and worn off. The service was ok/satisfactory : I arranged for a wake up call and got no callback the next morning. Will I stay there again ? Maybe or maybe not.

I was impressed with the large room,...
I was impressed with the large room, and verandah with sun loungers, overlooking the sea. Creaky floorboards meant you could hear occupants moving about next door. First day breakfast was a plated meal, not buffet selection. When I queried this I was told buffet breakfast was only offered when the hotel was over half full. I took evening meals out. Overall I found it a quiet relaxing stay - just what I wanted.
