Lots of privacy. Staff was attentive. Unique experience of being up close with nature - monkeys, lizards and stick insects (huge ones). Lovely restaurant, but prices were somewhat unreasonable. Average was RM75 per main course, even though quality wasn't bad, but does not warrant price.Great view! Would return again.
The Sanctuary is a great place to chill out. We spent a long weekend here to unwind from KL city life where we live. It is a low density development of villas set in the jungle just a short walk from the beach. We had a sea view villa which was really spacious. The room was very comfortable and can be a place to relax all day or treat as a base camp to explore the island. The beach was secluded and was a charming tropical island experience rather than the corporate manicured option available elsewhere on the island. The main building with reception area, restaurant, spa and pool was a short walk away from the villa. The facilities were fine. Loved the Dusky Leaf monkeys. Not so in love with the Macaques. One stole my grapes and an apple!
Really have a great stay in this private and quiet resort. Spacious villa even too big for a single traveler like me, but still a good experience. Like the beach very much, private beach.
Will definitely return again with my love one.
We stayed for 5 nights at the Tanjung Sanctury - our villa was on the beach and surrounded by forest at the back. The views were stunning. The staff were very helpful and friendly - almost impossible to walk anywhere without being picked up by the 24 hour buggy service! A lovely quiet pool next to the dinning room which was open sided and again with the most wonderful views. Dinner was a little pricey but worth it - one of the best meals I have ever had! The wildlife was also stunning - monkeys, liquaids, igunas, birds - make sure you close the door on your balcony if you dont want a viist from the monkeys through! You really do need a car as this resort is secluded - we hired one freom the airport for about 100RM a day. The harbour down the road is worth a visit - there is a bank, petrol station and lots of restaurants there. Also boat trip with blue water sailing was excellent
A wonderful tranquil setting after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok!
The setting of this complex was very different and wecoming after spending sometime in busy cities. The beautiful private beach, which at times we had all to ourselves, was lovely with the quite lapping waves and white sands. The staff were so friendly and could not do enough for you. The food was superb. This holiday was the perfect end to a busy schedule, there was time to relax, read and enjoy the beautiful island of Langkawai.
The room was large and comfortable with a great view of the sea. The food was good. However, the breakfast buffet was limited. The pool was small and rather dirty as it was full of leaves. Families with children will feel extremely bored as the beach is small and the sand is too coarse for little feet. The spa experience is good value for money. There are loads of natural wildlife like monkeys, monitor lizards, birds, squirrels running around the hotel grounds and on the balcony of the room.
We (my husband, son and I) were greeted with a welcome drink and nice cold face towel upon check-in.
Stayed in beachfront (Room 826) - got the best view of the beach with no trees blocking. The room is very spacious, well decorated and very clean indeed. No need to request for extra bed as it has a big day-bed (sofa)enough for our 11-year old son to sleep on. The balcony is also very big but unfortunately we do get 'uninvited visitors'(monkeys) hanging around the balcony making it difficult for me to do my reading there. Don't ever feed them or else more will come. Never, never ever leave the balcony door opened as the monkeys will come in and take whatever they can in the room. The facilities in the room is more than adequate - everyday the housekeeper will replenish the fruit basket and 4 bottles of mineral water.
Service is very good and prompt and all the staff (including the Manager) are very friendly and eager to help.
Breakfast is very good and fullfilling - since it's a low season there is no buffet; but we were allowed to order as much as we can eat from the breakfast menu. We enjoyed eating and sitting in the lovely restaurant as it has got a fantastic view of the ocean and one can watch the lovely sunset from there.
Unlike other hotels, this hotel is far in and no cars allowed - to protect the environment. However there is always a buggy at our request to take us to and from the car park.
It is indeed a sanctuary place to stay especially for honeymooners and those who want to de-stress. If you enjoy the woods and greenaries and the quietness, this is definitely the place.
Beautiful rooms (sea facing villas), very big, decoration is very nice, also at the restaurant.
Just 2 negative points : the beach is not clean, many plastic parts on the sand, so we used mainly the pool.
And we had no phone service in our room, so everytime we needed to walkto the reception to ask for something.
Nice place overall, very quiet, many kinds of birds, monkey, lezards... nature!
