the place to stay
Upon arrival, Farid the owner was there with a big smile a happy voice for our transfer to his small group of traditional Kampung style lodges; which he operates with is brother.
We arrived at 10 PM and was not a problem for Farid to show my wife and I the workings of our private Kampung. He then took us down the short walk to the town through the village to get some food and see the sights. He dropped us off at an excellent restaurant on the beach. leaving us to eat then see the sights his parting words were if you have any problems at all give me a call anytime. We had a great meal a couple of drinks then headed off back to our new home. We unfortunately took a wrong turn and got lost, we realised this and approached a local sat having some food at road side cafe. With no hesitation he loaded us into his car and took us back to our Kampung, we thanked his and gave him some beer money for his trouble. The islanders of Langkawi are so nice.
The following day Farid insisted he drop us of at a breakfast bar in the town again. All part of the service he smiled. Whilst we did get the VIP treatment, we struck it lucky as it was low season and we were his only guests. Even in High season I know that Farid and his brother will go the extra mile to make their guests stay in Langkawi as pleasurable as possible. I will be going back at some point and would recommend all my friends to stay in the Bohok Langkawi.
