Brilliant hotel, superb service...spoilt by the plumbing.
The Majestic is a lovely hotel...the room was brilliant, spacious, and had all the necessary amenities. Service was great as well. The little gestures, such as turning down the room, the hot tea welcome, and kueh-kueh in the evening were nice little touches to make guests feel very welcome. We were on the 9th floor, and the view across the whole city was great.
My only bugbear, the plumbing. Whenever the rooms on the left and right turn on their shower, the noise would be totally unbearable. It was really loud, and to have hotel guests turning them on at 5.30am/6.30am spoilt not only my morning slumber, but also hurt my stay.
I really hope the owners think seriously about renovating the plumbing system. It would really be a shame that such a lovely hotel, with such good service only to be spoilt by the plumbing system.
Best,
Daniel Lim

Majestic Hotel Melaka
We had a pleasant weekend stay in the boutique hotel. Beautiful and historical lobby , with bar area housed in a 90 year old renovated building. Found the Perankan tiles facinating, with lots of attention paid to details and its structure.
Room was comfortable with all the modern trappings, about 35 sq m facing the river front. Only found the water running through the floor trap could be quite disturbing at 3am. Breakfast selection could have been better with more buffet offerings as it was quite limited to some fruits, cereal and danish.
Hotel Manager Ben was very friendly and well informed, made us feel very welcomed. We will return to stay in this hotel next time in Malacca!

Lovely Hotel
A very unique hotel in views of its appearance - colonial style yet with modern facilities in room.
The service was of top notch, definitely a 5 star hotel. Added Value: the free walking tour - we were so lucky that we arrived the hotel just in time to join the 5pm free guided walking tour which
last for 2.5 hr. The tour was very informative and interesting, the lady guide was very pleasant, so don't miss it! The breakfast was great too! Will definitely come back to Majestic next time if
we visit Melacca again!

not for kids
Despite being in the city centre, this is not a place to stay if you are bringing your kids. The swimming pool is pathetically small. The breakfast is also below the usual standard of 5-star establishments, especially when they're charging 70myr pax. Other than that, i admit the peranakan setting is tastefully done up, though the walls a a little thin and not much of insulation from noise coming from the pipes. But the spa treatments are good value for money

lovely accommodation & spa. Food strangely priced.
The heritage front of The Majestic has reception, a nice little bar & verandah area, and high tea room. The high tea is excellent and v.good value for money at R68++ for two people.
The rooms are in a newish building and the rooms recreate the heritage look very well.
Ramadan had started, so we did hear the before dawn calls to the faithful, but I was prepared and had earplugs.
Breakfast was very expensive, R70pp++ and nothing special. We went around the corner to The Renaissance and had v.nice full buffet breakfast for $36pp++.
The Majestic staff are very good and solicitious for our welfare, nothing was too much trouble. Maps were notated and given to us.
The complimentary 3 hour heritage foot tour was excellent and we got a lot of background of the history & current way of life for the various Melakan religious groups.
The spa was unusual, luxurious & rituals of fruit and teas were included.

The best place to stay in Malacca
The Majestic hotel is so fortunate to have people like C.F Lim who is so dedicated to his job to ensure all hotel guests have wonderful experience staying there. We made a mistake on the booking date with the hotel and the KL hotel. Contacted Asia Rooms Rep and he kept telling us that he could not do anything to help. But, C.F Lim or Bill was willing to go the extra miles to sort out the problems for us. The food we had there (two lunches, two breakfasts) were absolutely fantastic. Chef Rafizan Abdul Rahim and his team really did a good job. The hotel could do better if they improve the noise isolation between rooms and add more staff to serve guests during breakfast time in peak season. We had to ask twice for every thing, i.e a glass of warm water for our kid and a bottle of tabasco. Najwa, Eugene, Li Ling and the rest of the staff were very, very friendly.

A lovely experience
Beautifully restored mansion next to the river with well decorated luxurious rooms, impeccable service and nice little touches. Away from noise of Jonker Street and next to hospital but sound proofing is good and no sirens were heard. Can give the Aman group a run for their money!
