hotel is a little run down
the hotel room is a little run down, very basic, for budget traveller style. but not worth the price.
No windows
Room was very basic. No windows, no wardrobe, no bar fridge. Shower was very good. Breakfast was very basic, no choice Scrambled eggs on toast acccompanies by just warm sausages and the smallest glass of juice i have ever seen. Staff were very friendly and keen to please. Location is good.
Good Location
The location is convenient. Smack in the middle of the historical site. Shopping district also within walking distance. Hotel rooms have the bare minimum amenities. Feels more like a boarding house rather than hotel. Clean though. Breakfast was toast and eggs. Rather small dining area so had to wait during peak hours.
Good location but it's hard to find parking
The hotel has a good ambience through it's use of antiquated furnitures.
However, my biggest complaint is it's limited parking spaces since it's located near Jonker Street which is fully packed during the weekends.
Wifi is not available in my room, but is available near the lobby.
The rooms has poor sound proofing, so anyone speaking in the hallway outside the room will be heard clearly inside the room even when the door IIS closed.

Somethings good and bad ..
Despite its excellent location of nostalgic design, the addition of a radio clock would have done a lot to us, at least with a sense of time in a windowless room. Also would appreciate the wall power socket to continue to work when the occupants are not in the room. We made a deliberate walk back to the room just to try to charge my wife camera's battery but we were disappointed that the card key has to be activated to turn on the socket. The mattress and pillows are going to be in need of replacement soon. Some other good points are strong and hot watrer pressure in shower, free wifi and jolly good breakfast.
It was the first time I have stayed in Baba House. My family travelled with me in this trip and the rooms we stayed in were clean and bright though no windows. We were staying on the 2nd floor. Although the breakfast was simple comprising of scrambled eggs, hot dogs, toast bread, baked beans and the chinese-style noodle with coffee, tea and juice, overall the taste was just nice and nothing too fanciful.
However, while passing by level one, I happened to view an open room and its wall paint was dropping and water stain could be seen. I believe the hotel is renovating some of the rooms soon as our rooms looked pretty new. Hence for whoever love trying Baba House, I suggest you request for rooms on 2nd level onwards. Overall experience is nice and will come back again.

Worst Hotel
Sorry to say, this is the worst hotel that I ever stayed. It is understandable that there is no extra room, no extra bed but no extra pillows is unacceptable. We were only given 1 pillow for 1 bed. And worse of all the staff were all like a statue with no emotional expression on their faces. Will never come there again and never recommand it to anyone.
