this hotel have an english home style (was a British home in the 1930's).
the receptions was friendly and helpful.
have a very beautiful garden.
stayed in a one room suite: clean room,big shower room, overall the room was nice. The problem was with the heather for the shower, it wasn't stable as the water become cold and hot at the same time,you can imagine the cold water is like taking shower with water from the fridge.
traveler who face this problem next time should request to change room.
had an English breakfast,( not buffet ya :P)(not recommended for Muslims as they serve non halal food).

Basically the hotel was good, the receptionists were friendly. Unfortunately, a lot of patience was needed when taking a shower, primarily because the water pressure was too low, and the heater was not working properly.

The hotel has a very rustic look...

The hotel has a very rustic look and feel about it and that's where the good stops. The interior of the hotel requires a major maintenance overhaul, cleaning and redocoration.(which includes the furnishings) When you finally find a member of staff, they can be quite attentive!! The food menu is quite extensive and of good quality, but, expensive. The advertising information is quite out of date and bordering on total misinformation. There is a TV in the room, but, there is no satellite connection. The only TV stations are RTM 1 & 2. I'm afraid I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or colleagues.

Overall I enjoyed my stay. Sure, it's showing it's age a little which is more than made up for with a wonderful charm & classic Tudor character. (Beautiful gardens too). The only problem I had with my room (Elgin) was the shower, it's a hand piece & somewhat awkward. Great staff, very friendly & helpful, I needed to book a tour the night I arrived for the next day & the night manager made all the arrangements for me, I was very impressed. My stay was for 2 nights & I wish I'd booked longer.

Greeted by a fantastic manager, who was very friendly. A wonderful hotel that takes you back to a bygobe era, with wonderful english decorations and furniture, a real home from home ! slightly shabby around the edges, but the whole atmosphere and experience not diminished by this, while luxurating in the surroundings you ended up forgiving these inperfections. Saying that the day they get the electirics rewired and tidy up all the details, this place would quickly become a far more expensive boutique place.
