Great stay!
Great holiday, the pool was the big attraction for the kids, 3 water slides and lots of water spray to play with. Staff were friendly and helpful, great music in the evenings with live bands. Room spacious and clean, no complaints at all.
Not as expected
Security was not very good as I was woken up by a drunkard pressing my door bell at 2am. If you can choose, don't take level 2 rooms as public can have access to the floor and during weekend the band will be playing so it's very noisy.
Cool Dudes
I was enjoying every moment at Hard Rock Hotel Penang. The staffs were friendly. Facilities are good. The room is nicely decorated. Internet connection (using LAN cable) is the fastest i ever experienced. Free entry to Hard Rock Cafe. Location wise, it is not that convenience as you need to take a cab to the nearest seafood restaurant or night market, which will cost you around RM$15 per trip. Going to Gurney plaza (the best in Penang) will cost you around RM$25 per trip.
Have a rocking'.day
Nothing to complain about with this upmarket resort hotel, except of course food and drink prices, but there are plenty of options nearby. Room was huge with pool and beach facing view, and balcony. King bed was soft with big fluffy pillows. Heaps of staff on hand to help with anything you want. Live music at night was gangs of fun.
Disappointed stay..
Due to Electric power cut off, e hotel got no power supply for guest from 12pm till 5pm. I was not inform before I check in or even on that particular day. Only being told when I call for maintenance check. I believe the hotel can do something better to please all the guest, in stead of jus saying,"we are sorry, n we can't do anything for it!".. Or is it because of I made e booking through AsiaRoom, so they don't bother?? Overall is a very good stay, only if they can make a proper arrangement of the disappointed incident.
Family & Fun
Definitely a great hotel for families with children aged 2-13. The pool was great fun & the kids club allow parents to have some time by themselves while the little ones have fun at Lil Rock. Our 5 year old enjoyed the activities at the kids club. A little pricey but I'd say it's worth it if you're looking for a relaxing holiday. Housekeeping could be better. There weren't any face towels upon checking in & took ages for them to bring one set of extra towels. The breakfast buffet was alright; edible but nothing to shout about. The band was a little too loud, so kids or adults trying to sleep may not appreciate it.
Bearing in mind that we were there during the low tourist season, so.it was great staying at Hard Rock. We checked out on the day when many people started checking in and I could see that the pool was getting very crowded. So, I was glad we were there when there weren't so many guests. The hotel is not very big, thus, when occupancy rate is high, it may not be so pleasant a stay.
Enjoyable stay at Hard Rock Penang
Stayed two nights at Hard Rock Penang, which I found a very pleasant hotel. Customer service was good, and the room was spacious. I had concerns about the noise coming from outside, my room was a hillview one so the noise coming from the loud large aircon compressors outside. seaview rooms didnt fare any better as the band played till late at the lobby which is open air and just underneath the rooms. Not much privacy either at the pool, as visitors to Hard Rock cafe would just stroll by the hotel pool to take a peak, and there were a lot of people. So guests at the people would feel like they are an atrraction for people, For holiday with friends its fun but I wont recommend for a romantic holiday or for families. Overall its a nice hotel with good service, and good location to shops and night market.
Nice & entertaining hotel to stay..surrounding with sand even at pool side make you feel you're nearer to the beach. My teenage girl really luv the ambiance & food but a bit dissapointment coz she can't enter the Hard Rock Cafe to see the life band due to underage. I think for patrons they should allowed and furthermore she is 17 yrs old & with parents.
