A lot of restaurants and the Guerney...
A lot of restaurants and the Guerney Mall nearby. For downtown you need a car or taxi. Breakfast very good but coffee undrinkable (if you want coffee order complimentary fresh brewed coffee cup by cup!). Dirty sundbeds (take two towels to cover!). Free parking in hotel garage. Choose seaside view. Great value!
i had required a handicapped room but...
i had required a handicapped room but did not need to use it on checking in. i was disappointed that this room was only available on the SMOKING floor.
please be advised that the EVERGREEN LAUREL does not have any double beds in the whole hotel. i was given this information upon arrival.
will try a different hotel with AsiaRooms when i return in November '07.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE STANDARD...
I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE STANDARD OF THIS HOTEL. tO STAY IN ONE OF A SIMILAR STANDARD IN THE UK WOULD HAVE BEEN FAR MORE EXPENSIVE.
ALTHOUGH MY SISTER AND I ONLY STAYED ONE NIGHT AS WE HAD TRAVELLED BY TRAIN FROM SINGAPORE, WE WERE ALLOWED ACCESS TO THE ROOM AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE WHICH WAS A GREAT BONUS FOR US. THE STAFF ARE EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS.
THE ROOM WAS SPACIOUS, CLEAN AND HAD EVERY FACILICTY WE REQUIRED AS WELL AS HAVING A GOOD VIEW AS IT WAS ON THE SEAWARD SIDE OF THE HOTEL.
FOOD WAS FINE AND PLENTIFUL AND VERY REASONABLY PRICED.
WE FOUND THE HOTEL IDEALLY PLACED FOR OUR NEEDS BUT IT WAS NOT CLOSE TO BEACHES AND THE WESTERN SIDE OF THE ISLAND OF PENANG WOULD SUIT HOLIDAY MAKERS BETTER I FEEL.wE WERE HOWEVER IDEALLY PLACED FOR THE SHOPPING MALLS, VARIOUS TEMPLES AND THE HILL RAILWAY.
I WOULD HAVE NO RESERVATION IN STAYING HERE AGAIN AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT FOR THE BUSINESS OR CASUAL TRAVELLER.
IN MY OPINION IT WAS VERY WELL PRICED, WELL PRESENTED AND WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I have previously stayed in the hotel for more than 3 occasions. The standard of buffet breakfast is getting poorer each time. Needs lots of improvement.

The location is good, free broadband internet service is convenient for business customer. Rate is reasonable & competitive, over all service is good, good value for money.

This is a wonderful hotel, nice rooms and bathroom. Nice price, the food inside hotels also nice. Near the sea and nice scenary. Don't worry about the rubbish in the sea. I will stay again in this hotel.
