The hotel itself was good but location...
The hotel itself was good but location not ideal as it is a one way street not convenient for travel by public transport and taxi not convenient location for access to tourist spots. counter staff not able to give proper info and guidance.

Hotel 1926 has wonderful colonial atmosphere. Breakfast by a wide open window, lounging on the second floor balcony, and browsing the watercolor paintings were delightful. There are a number of downsides to the hotel though. First, the room is small, and doesn't have much space or surfaces for storing your things; it's also dark, and not too homey. Second, the hotel is quite a long walk from the attractions (around 15-20 minutes), buses don't pass in front of it, and though it's a short taxi ride to the city center, Penang taxis do charge rip-off prices (they don't use their meters). And lastly, I was disappointed that the front desk had forgotten to fix me a take-away breakfast (as they had promised, since I had to check out of the hotel early to catch at 7:20 AM flight).

Hotel 1926 is beautiful and rooms are large but basic. We had a noisy air con (traption) outside our window which irritated, and we wished the hotel had had a swimming pool. The staff were helpful and efficient, and room service food was excellent and good value. The breakfast chef did not appear up to the same standard however, but the breakfast fare was adequate.

Great hotel, really good value, bags of character, very friendly & helpful staff. Good range of options for breakfast. A short 10 minute walk to town and spacious rooms.

There are lot of brochures provided for tourists.
The room is not so good but It is clean. (I think it is ok for this range of price.)
Location is a bit far from city center. It is quite difficult to get taxi also because rarely to see taxi passing the hotel. ( I had to walk into town)
Breakfast is bad point for this hotel.
There are very few things to choose.
For Buffe there are just bread , cornflake and 3 kind of fruits. Besides buffet you can choose to get either vegetarian dish and omelet with sausage. (I choosed omelet with sausage it was not delicious at all)
Overall the hotel is worth for the price.
