Old building needs more upgrading
The toilet WC pipe was leaking. The floor planks were badly put together. But it has an old heritage charm about it. It would be great if the owners can install outlet fans for the windowless bathrooms.

The room was adequate but had no...
The room was adequate but had no view. There were rooms over the other side with balconies but they cost more. The swimming pool was good and we had it to ourselves. The location was a bit out of town and we got lost a couple of times trying to get back from the bus to Batu Ferringhi.

THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS GOOD....
THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS GOOD. THE FACILITIES ARE VERY BASIC BUT ADEQUATE. BUT THE SERVICE WAS POOR.

The place is well located, great ambience...
The place is well located, great ambience and clean. However, the shower is small, hot water inconsistent, shower curtain should be changed. Cannot even ring out from phone in the room, mosquitoes. Power failure just before midnight plunged everything into darkness but no candles or emergency lighting. What a shame - I liked the place so much for the convenience and beautiful heritage structure yet will not return due to the lack of basic services!

Despite many mosquitos in reception and air...
Despite many mosquitos in reception and air conditioning I could not adjust, the hotel provided a comfortable enough overnight stay. The room was rather worn but the hotel had character. Unfortunately, my morning experience was not so good. A "private" taxi arranged by the hotel at 5.45 am to go to Butterworth Train Station wanted 177 Ringgits for the 25 minute journey. This was reduced to 157 Ringgits required in advance. This is double the normal, already high, early morning taxi fare. This is the worst example of excessive pricing I experienced in my three month visit to Asia. The hotel manager has said he will ask the taxi driver for a refund. This has so far not been forthcoming and further correspondence has not been answered. I suggest you make sure you are happy with the price in advance if you use a taxi arranged by this hotel.

Our stay at the 1926 Heritage Hotel...
Our stay at the 1926 Heritage Hotel was pleasant and memorable. The room itself was in good condition: it was clean, comfortable and had adequate facilities for its price. The staff were helpful when we enquired about matters and made an effort. Would like to return again if we are ever in Penang. It's not located directly in the city central but catching a taxi was not too expensive to get around.

room wasn't good no good information no...
room wasn't good no good information no frigerator no mini bar very small room for 2 ,very bad breakfast, no service! bring towel with u , towel in hotel is like paper! mosquito is every where in hotel! good location ! no safety box, you have to live your things to the general manegar so every time you needs something you have to ask for the general manager, and they have too phone after him, every time we wait for about 1 houre, and i think hotel is still the same since 1926!!! its good for local people, not for tourist from Europa!

The hotel itself was good but location...
The hotel itself was good but location not ideal as it is a one way street not convenient for travel by public transport and taxi not convenient location for access to tourist spots. counter staff not able to give proper info and guidance.
