Did not appear to be a five...
Did not appear to be a five star hotel to me. More like 3.5. Open area made the hotel feel like being outdoors and so it was always hot. The a/c in the rooms took forever to cool the room, which was just ordinary. The Equatorial hotel is near a muslim worship center, so be prepared for a 5am wake-up call (so loud...). The hotel taxis charged 25-30RM for short-distances, whereas normal taxis only charge 10-12RM. The fitness center is complimentary, which is adequate and it includes steamroom and sauna. The breakfast buffet is complementary and there was quite a selection of American and Malaysian foods.
