I have chosen to stay at Paradise...
I have chosen to stay at Paradise Sandy Bay for the fact that it is situated near the beach and the room rates are really value for money, considered the 5-star looked aliked room that were shown on the website of AsiaRooms.com.
Indeed during my stay there with my family, it did not disappoint us at all. The servicing staff from bell-boy, housekeeping department to the Captain of the restaurant were all very friendly and attentive to our needs. The suite that we stayed has a good seaview and is really spacious. Best of all, this hotel is located near the town area, where we could just take a cab to a grand shoppinng mall in 15 minutes.
All in all, we really enjoyed this trip to Penang, be it the hotel stay, the shopping spree and on top of that we really feel at ease with the Penang people.
One last thing, it is so convenient to book your holidays through AsiaRooms.com, we will sure use this service again for our next holiday plan.

We were a grp of 5 freinds and had taken the deluxe rooms at the hotel from 16-19jan06. The hotel is located by the beach as evident from the name, and we had a great time there. We had our rooms on the 25th floor and the view from the rooms was excellent; we had a partial sea view and the city view. It was a very serene place to be in. Its a just perfect place for a relaxed holiday. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and there was ample storage space and cupoards provided which helped us to dump all our shopping and luggage in, which led to us having a cleaner room. Besides the hotel offers water sports activities like jet skiing, para sailin, etc which was a fun experience.Also the pool is surrouded by trees and greenery, which added beauty to the ambience and was vary relaxing. Breakfast was bad, spcly for vegetarians. They did not have any variety in vegetarian food. Rather no veg food at all. We survived 3 days only on fruits and bread. Even salalds were missing. Also the fruits and bread were not fresh enough and one din't feel like picking up much from the table. Also they have spilt aircons in the rooms and they switched them on when we entered and at that time the room was heated up and smelling of dusty carpet, and it went on like that for atleast a day, until ofcorse we kept the aircon on the whole day, after which it came to normal. Well the hotel could consider these aspects and improve their service. If you want to have peaceful, relaxing, and enjoyable stay, yet reasonable stay, go for Pradise Sandy Bay. Overall it was a nice experience to stay at Paradise.

Me and my husband spent Christmas and New Years at Paradis. We had a suit and the comfort was the best. The staff were very kind and serviceminded.
There were some thing that could have been better. The Gym was in bad shape and you had to pay to use the tennis court and to play Squash, it should be free for hotelguests. They should have more sunbeds by the pool and beach. Internet didn´t work for days.
Some of the bartenders should be more professional. One couldn´t neither open the winebottle nor serve the wine, we asked to pay for our drinks and food several times before getting the check.

This hotel is fab! We booked it only after our original choices were fully booked, and im so glad we did. The staff that welcome you when you arrive make you feel at home, and the Australian general manager (cant remember his name!) was extremely friendly, as was Sankar. Everyone was so smiley and always greeted you whenever you saw them. The hotel facilities are perfect for everyone, the beach is stunning and, although the area outside the hotel grounds is a little run down, further out it is very nice. There are two shopping centres locally - Island Plaza (12 ringgits to get there by hotel taxi) and Gurney Plaza (15 ringgits to get there) the furthest one being the Gurney, which is only 15 mins away. Myself, my fiance and 4 year old daughter had a sea facing suite which had a fantastic view and was very pleasant. The only negative thing is that if your neighbours are very noisy, you will hear them as the walls cant be that thick! We had this experience, and after a quick phone call to the reception, we had a member of staff have a polite word with our neighbours, and all was fine again. I can honestly say that we had an amazing week at this hotel, and if it werent for the busy christmas week already being full, we would have booked for longer. We DEFINITELY will be staying here on our next visit to Penang.

Family suite was big. Food/ meals quality very poor ,rather disappointed.
Breakfast was chaotic daily....poorly prepared food.X'mas dinner was an absolute disaster...they hardly replenished the food, in fact they substituted many dishes that was NOT on the menu, when the food started to finish.They had in fact used CANNED food just to make the numbers. Felt cheated.
By an large it was a disappointing stay.....they should have a contingency
plan to cater to the peak season visitors. They just do not seem to be able to cope . I am sure this is not the first time the hotel had encountered such a problem. Thank you.

Very efficient house-keeping team, responded almost instantly upon request. But, the overall cleanliness needs improvement. Bathtub and basin needed some scrubbing and sofa's cushions at lobby needed a shampoo.

Hotel was very funtional & good. Rooms were fantastic & the view from the balcony, great. However, Penang itself in general was a bit disappointing; too much growth......i hadn't been back for about 15 years.....

The available of Hi-speed Internet at each hotel room was the main reason of choosing Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel. I was very disappointed that the Internet was not working during our stay.

Having returned to Australia from our holiday in Malaysia. I would like to thank you for looking after us so well during our short stay in Penang. We found the Paradise Sandy Beach Hotel to be an excellent venue for a family holiday. Our two bedroom unit overlooking the beach was clean and comfortable and the staff were all really courteous and friendly. We all really enjoyed our time at your hotel.
