We arrived at 10am and our requested...
We arrived at 10am and our requested Non-smoking room was not available but the Front Desk Receptionist was very kind to offer us an alternative Smoking Room. We were hesitant to accept as we are very sensitive to the cigarette smell. She brought us to the room to check whether the smell in the room was overpowering. It was indeed not bad. We feel that they went the extra mile in this aspect and we applaud their good service. The breakfast was excellent and the staff gave us very attentive service. In addition, they have a superb well-equipped 1st Class Gym. The hotel is also conveniently located next to the Gurney Plaza Mall. We will definitely recommend our friends to stay in G Hotel whenever they are in Penang.

The hotel is very nice, good location...
The hotel is very nice, good location and very near a big shopping mall. The only bad thing is the service. On our way to leave penang, we asked hotel to arrange for a cab. I saw the cab driver handed over some money to the bell boy and we were charged at a rate higher then the normal standard rate. i will write a complain letter to the hotel management.

Enjoyed my stay at this trendy hotel....
Enjoyed my stay at this trendy hotel. Next to a large shopping complex, Gurney Plaza. Lots of eateries nearby - both local and international cuisine are available. The Gurney Drive hawker food stalls are just a mere 5 to 10-minute walk away. Breakfast at the G cafe is okay with a reasonable spread. The infinity pool is lovely. The gym looks good although didn't find time to use it. Free parking is a bonus for us who had a car. The room is clean. Beds are comfortable. The water pressure from the shower is good but water tends to leak out from the shower stall, making the floor outside the shower slippery. The free mini-bar is a real bonus, although they were predominantly local drinks eg. sugar cane drink, soy milk drink, grass jelly drink. An occasional Coke would be nice. The lobby is very modern but the acoustics are poor. There is not enough soft panelling to absorb the noise that reflect from the walls. When there are a few children crying or screaming in the lobby, it can be quite noisy.

Superior room was fantastic - large and...
Superior room was fantastic - large and comfortable. Location of hotel is very good too for those who want to have access to amenities (shopping is just next door) and to the sights and sounds (all via short taxi ride). If you want the beach, then it'd be better to stay at Batu Ferringhi, but if you want a modern hotel with new facilities, G-Hotel would be hard to beat! Our only issue was that the room had not been serviced/cleaned by the time we got back in the afternoon for a rest (which was strange as they should have done it in the late morning!) and it took a while for them to put it right; but other than that, great hotel!

Room was big and they've a nice...
Room was big and they've a nice swimming pool. Location wise was good as it is just next to Gurney Plaza and outdoor eatery. Something to fuzz on is the bathroom, though it is big but there's no door to the showering area, so u may see a wet washroom after a bath.

G Hotel is very convenient, right next...
G Hotel is very convenient, right next door to Gurney Plaza which has lots of shops and Gurney food centre is only a stone's throw away. The hotel will be great for familes with young children due to the great convenience. Some areas for improvement. Eg. we had to stay in a more expensive deluxe room in order to have a bathtub (must have when trying to bathe a young toddler). Their shower stalls have fixed rainforest shower heads, not good for very young children. Also, the breakfast selection was not fantastic, very limited hot foods. Lastly, even for the deluxe room, we did not have free newspapers delivered to our room.

Superb location. Nice failities - especially the swimming pool and the gymnasium. Good service from the staff. Clean and spacious rooms. Extremely huge bed too - kinda of 2 queen beds joined into one huge bed (for executive rooms I guess) The cocktail at the executive lounge is served between 6 pm - 8 pm. The timing, in our opinion, is little odd as it clashs with dinner time. It would be better if the time can be changed to afternoon say between 3 pm - 5 pm. Overall, 5 stars from us.

Terrific, modern hotel - thoroughly enjoyed my...
Terrific, modern hotel - thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. A 'quality'hotel, and would stay again for sure. Good breakfast (great croissants!) and food in general and terrific pool - one you can do laps in. Location is away from the city proper (allow 10-15 mins for a taxi ride from Georgetown) – you can walk, but it's through some very dense traffic and is not recommended. Is next door to a large shopping centre (quite handy) – and is just down the road from one of Penang's best hawker food centres (make sure you try an Assam Laksa!). Only downside for me was a Saturday night hotel pool party of thumping dance music that went through till about 1am at night. But, apart from that, very highly recommended. The Gurney Road Assam Laksa too!
