Hotel pegs itself as a stylish address on Gurney Drive, and indeed it is, compared to the other hotels in the area. The lobby is gorgeous. The rooms aren't too bad, modern, spacious and clean, although a little bit worse for wear already, but nothing to really take issue on. The problem with this hotel is that the staff aren't well-trained. They're fairly clueless and hence inefficient. For example, our rooms weren't ready even though the receptionist promised ready rooms at 2pm, when we reached the hotel in the morning at 11am. We had to fuss before we were offered alternative rooms. No initiative from the front desk at all. Anyway, isn't it rather silly to blurt out to your customers that their designated rooms aren't ready, when alternative rooms are available? Also, staff gave wrong info regarding the airport - very strange, as this is very basic info they should know working in a hotel. Not to say they weren't courteous in general, but if the G Hotel touts itself as a premier address then it should make sure its staff is up to par.
