We stayed at the G Hotel for 3 days and 2 nights in May and loved every minute of it. We arrived and the staff were so polite and helpful. When we got to our room and needed an extra bathrobe and a power adaptor they were there in 5 minutes delivering it.
The room was one of the best I have seen in a hotel. The bathroom was very modern and big. There was an extra large shower which I loved. The room itself was well designed and nicely decorated.
I liked the cafe in which breakfast was served in. It was so funky. Food was good loved the fresh waffle section. I would have liked to seen steamed rice but other than that, it was good. The staff at the cafe were excellent.
We all tried drinks at the G Bar before we left, and service was gud on the funky chairs in the lobby. Ordered ice-cream even though it wasn't on the menu and they still brought one out to me.
We used the G Hotel's taxi service. It cost maybe a few Ringgit more than to get one of the street but the service was excellent. We used the same driver Gilaney and when we went to Batu Ferringhi for the day, we called him when we were ready to go back to Georgetown and he was there within 30 minutes. Would highly recommend.
Our overall experience at the G Hotel was excellent and wished we had stayed longer. The location is brillant being right next to Gurney Plaza and having access through the hotel to Gurney Place. The staff and the service of this hotel is excellent. We will definitely stay there again.
Two hours after check out however we...
Two hours after check out however we found we accidently left two pairs of new shoes in the room. When we called the hotel they told us nothing was found. Items were probably taken by cleaning staff.
This is not something you'd expect nor accept from a 5 star hotel. The fact that items were left in the room does not give anybody the right to confiscate.
Hence, never again in this hotel or any other member of this chain.

I stayed in this hotel with my partner in april 2008.
The hotel is situated directly on the main boulevard in Penang. It has has its own connection with a shoppingmall so you dont need to walk in the (hot) sunshine. The service at the desk is very good and efficient. The room we had gave us a wonderfull view at the river/sea. The design of the room was also nice: direct view from your room to the sea/boulevard and you could also see the boulevard when you would take a nice bath. Furthermore the bathroom was with topdesign and was spacious.
If you like citylive, a nice boutique hotel and a nice view and good service you really have to try out this hotel.

Wonderful stay at G Hotel. Adjacent to Gurney shopping center and hawker food stall. A stylish hotel with minimalism design, clean, spacious bedroom with a comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet was OK.
Good location but not the interior decor....
Good location but not the interior decor. The middle stage in the lobby is very dangerous. my son fall down in the first morning. The buffet breakfast have to be improved. Will go to others hotel in that area next time.

Stylish hotel unfortunately staff are not properly train; overall service cannot match the stylish hotel - pity! Don't try the Japanese restaurant, food and service quality is poor. The service in the spa is nothing to sing about, you have to pay extra if you want the serviec to be charged to the room. Poor service too.
Really a pity that a stylish property like G Hotel is poorly maintained and service standard that cannot match. Also not forgetting the lobby is always crowded ith chukdren running and adults lying all over the place.

when we arrived at 3pm for check-in, we are told the rooms are not ready. many people were waiting, and the counter staff seems shorthanded. we have to wait for 20 minutes before check-in.
The room is nice and quite spacious. the bathroom is big compared to other hotels. The king size bed is very comfortable. overall, the room is very nice. their staff are friendly too.

I stayed here with my husband and two older children (21 and 17.) We had an excellent stay. The hotel and rooms are contemporary in style, very clean, bright and well appointed - desk for the laptop etc! Though the lobby decor felt a little clinical.
The staff were very helpful and willing to provide any requirements regardless of time of day. We needed a blanket at 2am -no trouble at all.The food was good in the restaurant on the ground floor we did not go to the other restaurant upstairs unfortunately. (Next time) The location is perfect if you wish to remain in town and right next door to the Gurney shopping mall!Perfect for shopping,restaurants and coffee shops and for Gurney Drive hawker stalls etc at night.The gym is excellent with trained staff on hand and a wonderful view to the sea and the pool was perfect with wonderful sun beds. (literally the size of a small double bed!) Unfortunately there was some building work going on in the shopping mall next door whilst we were there, which was very trying but hopefully will have been completed by our next trip!
