Our family enjoyed our stay and would...
Our family enjoyed our stay and would stay at your hotel again. The hotel has some deferred maintenance issues, but that aside offers good value for money. The staff was very kind and helpful; location on the beach is nice and we’d recommend this hotel to the cost conscience traveler not wanting to pay for a 5 star hotel/location.

Staff and service were excellent. If...
Staff and service were excellent. If i were to visit Panang again I would try to stay here. Beautiful views from ocean view rooms and from resturant. Tours and other bookings from hotel were expensive and better to arrange yourself. Food was ok but great location.

I stayed for 7 nights with...
I stayed for 7 nights with my Thai wife,3 daughters and father-in-law.The situation was brilliant,right on the beach and with a very nice swimming pool which the girls really enjoyed.The "international" breakfast buffet was fantastic and ensured my 'gang' started off the day with full stomachs.Don't get taxis but you can get anywhere on the buses which are very frequent,cheap,helpful and stop at the door.To eat cheaply in the evenings,etc.there is an eating area about 500metres away where the variou stalls sell good local,English,Japanese,Chinese,Thai food cheap.The staff could not have been more friendly in all departments and we received our adjoining rooms with spectacular seaviews as requested.Altogether an excellent hotel and from somebody who has travelled to many places fantastic value for money.

We were pleasantly surprised by the location...
We were pleasantly surprised by the location and quality finishing of the Tanjung Beach Hotel. The breakfast was plentiful and quite nice, although the staff had no understanding of how to make a poached egg! If you want something but don't see it on the breakfast buffet, just ask. We got nice yogurt cups that way. The main problem with the room was the tiny bathroom. Had it been clean, that would have made up for the small space we had to work with, but it was not very clean. Public areas of the hotel are very nice, clean, and modern. Its time to update the rooms! The beach is nice. We really enjoyed our stay and will probably get back there some day.

Great value (thru the special on Asia...
Great value (thru the special on Asia Rooms). Recently upgraded lobby. Rooms are OK but "tired". Beach is nice for walking, tho not for swimming.

To get to shops or other restaurants...
To get to shops or other restaurants you need to travel, however, buses are frequaint, cheap and stop outside hotel.

The lobby was nice and presentable with...
The lobby was nice and presentable with close proximity to the beach - beach was down only 1 flight of steps. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful, but check in time was 1500hrs, so i had to wait about 1 hr for the room to be ready. The room was comfortable and clean. The location is good for those who drive. However, there was a group of rowdy young tourists in the adjoining room smoking heavily and laughing loudly till the wee hours of the morning. Had to get security to ask them to quieten down. Security personnel was very firm and responsive and I really appreciated that.

My husband and I really enjoyed our...
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We would definitely recommend it to our friends in Australia and Malaysia. My brother and his wife came at our recommendation. They also really enjoyed their stay. The breakfast was excellent and the service and manners of the staff excellent and they are all to be commended. The position of the hotel is great and we just loved the view from our room. The bar also was nice and we enjoyed the music. Only suggestion for improvement is the bathroom needs upgrading but I'm sure you will do this in the future. Also the corridors from the lift to the room need upgrading as the carpet smelled. The air-conditioning was also very cold in the corridor. Overall we loved it and would definitely come again. Thank you for a memorable first time stay in Penang.

Great Hotel for the money. OK its...
Great Hotel for the money. OK its not the Ritz but for £20 a night incl breakfast it was a great Hotel. Large buffet breakfast, good pool and beach and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
