My stay here was fantastic - staff...
My stay here was fantastic - staff very friendly/efficient and facilities all well-maintained. The fitness centre was adequately equipped, but a couple of the machines were broken. I was in a room that faced a main road and although I was on a high floor (L10), the windows did not seem to be soundproofed very well, so traffic noise kept me awake at night sometimes (though I am a light sleeper, this may not be a problem for others).
Very accessible to USM (where I needed to visit)but not to beaches/batu ferringhi or Georgetown. So good for business travel but not if you're touring. However, if you don't mind catching buses or taxis it would be a fine option for you; there is a main bus station 5min walk away (bukit jambul) and a large shopping complex too.

We chose to stay at Vistana as it was close to relatives. It was perfect. The service excellent, close to the airport, many food outlets, short walk to shopping and now a short taxi ride to the new Shopping Plaza Queensbay. We will definitely stay again. It is some distance from Georgetown proper, but as we have been there many times before did not feel the need to venture there very often.

Every year is a must trip to Penang with my family and we always chose to stay at Vistana apartment. It is so convenient, easily accesible from the Penang Bridge.
Make sure you book earlier as the place is almost full especially during public holiday and school holiday.
The swimming pool is considered big too.
Security is definitely good. Only those staying at the apartment has access to the unit by using swipe card and for those with cars, the parking charge is minimal, i.e. RM1, if I'm not mistaken.
There is convenient store and restaurant, Kayu Nasi Kandar just next to the hotel.
The only minor drawback is that location. It's a bit out of Georgetown, around 20-30 minutes driving. Other than that, I love this place and recommend you to stay at the hotel or apartment. It's value for money!

Whilst about 30mins from Georgetown it is a great spot if you have your own transport and are a family. Close to airport, War museum, snake farm and Cheng Ho footprint and Queensbay Shopping Centre. We stayed in an apartment on the 25th floor with outstanding views of the water and over to the bridge to Butterworth. The apartment was very spacious. Some minor plumbing problems but these were quickly fixed by maintenance.
