Disappointed
I had called the hotel 1 week before arrival and confirmed details like price and other arrangements(late check in).The Manager who attended to us was rude and raised her voice inn disagreement when i told her, the price she quoted me was wrong, shee insisted we were wrong and the price on her system was correct(RM 168),we booked at RM 161, when i explained to her, she just let us have the booked price,didnt even bother to say sorry for her mistake, she continued to be arrogant and bossy.
She next gave us a room that was not checcked outand cleaned, when i came down to inform her, she just walked out of her front reception without telling us or updating us, shen then came back and asked her staff to issue another room, not even apologising for the mistake.
We forgot the incident and whenwe saw her in the premises said hello, she just ignored us.
This kind of hospitality is horrible, the lady manager spoilt our stay.Unless you dont mind these treatment, you can stay here, But comparing near by hotels, i rather spent my money somewhere else.

Below Expectation
The family room that we stayed in was spacious, but not enough furniture to store our stuff. The room looks kind of dated. Limited varieties available for breakfast. Overall, our stay in Red Rock was below our expectations.

hotel situated near to bus station, so easy to explore the island.Breakfast is a joke - nothing really for Europeans, not very clean - the stuff tries to do the best but always overcrowded with many groups. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable, not made up before afternoon! Stuff at reception very friendly but has no informations about what is possible to do. We found a helpful assistant with informations about where to go for dinner or what to do first.We would come again because now we know the surrounding. Every guest has to find out himself - no help fom hotel.

Hotel staff are polite. Especially the concerige Mr Selvaraju is very helpful, knowlegable and kind. The hotel breakfast was Ok but should have more preference. No need to worry for Penang food as the hawker food centre is near the hotel (less than 3 mins walk)
I have been to this hotel some 12 years ago which was known as Ming Court previously. It is a big change and hope to see more upgrade facilities akan datang.

The hotel appears to have insufficent staff particularly in the housekeeping dept. On the second day of my stay, my room was not cleaned after return to the hotel at 3 p.m. This is despite I had press the cleaning switch before I left the room arrounf 11 am. I phoned the Housekeeping Dept.no one answer my call. I call the Room Service agian no one answer my call. Finally I had to call the Reception to have the room clean in our presence.

Well recommended for the price we paid in Penang. Good reception when we arrived. Location at the heart of Georgetown, what more can u ask. Easy to catch buses coach to anywhere.
Rooms clean & good, and overall I will come back and stay again.
Only advise is don't book for breakfast in the hotel as along the hotel there are food stalls everywhere (Macalister Road) renowned for its local authentic foods.
U can eat until u drop. I regretted ordering breakfast and hence had not much chance to try out the morning food outside: We only stayed 3 nights should have book longer to try out as much foods as we can!!!

Poor service. Booked thru asia room and confirmation given but when i checked in the reception staff said that no such booking. Very upset with the service provided. Luckily the hotel not full if not we wont have place to stay.

We had a pleasant stay and feel very much at home this time with a hotel. The service was fantastic, especially the door porter with those friendly big smile.
The reception gave me a very big confidence of calling me to reconfirm my booking when i had a flight delay of 2 1/2hr, and even waited for me till 2.00am to complete his duty with his pleasant reception.the receptionist was so very friendly and kind to extend our check out time to make up our losses for the late check in to compensate our lost time for sleep. The overall service is unique.
