Nice staff but pricey for room
The staff were friendly and helpful, but the room was misrepresented. We booked a family suite for four people, and paid 368 ringgit on asiarooms ( which was the exact same rack rate upon arrival, we discovered). Disappointed with the room because family suite just meant they had an extra bed moved into a room with the same setup as a normal room. The toilet had a shower and bath, but the shower had no curtain and it meant splashing all over the commode and sink if one used it. Thus, we all squatted in the bathtub to use the tubs shower head instead to keep the floor dry. Save your money and just book two double rooms for a group, you'll get an extra bathroom for the same price.
Location is good, breakfast is lackluster. Down the road are two boutique heritage hotels with much better setup. More beautiful interiors for the same price

We stayed 2 nights at the Banana Boutique Hotel which looked to be a recently restored beautiful old building. Our room was spacious with a very modern onsuite bathroom The hotel was spotless and the staff were always very freindly and helpful. The breakfast included was a buffet with plenty of variety. A number of public buses passed by the hotel which was very convenient for doing a bit of sightseeing. Being in the heart of the tourist district there were plenty of cafes, bars, money changers etc.
Good location
We stayed for three nights. good location any number of street food vendors just down the road. Food was good, room good.We were upgraded to a larger rooom. Cannot thunk of one complaint

Banana Boutique hotel Penang
Great little place right in the heart of Georgetown. Superbly renovated Chinese shop houses. Superior room was great size, tv, aircon, en suite, coffee/tea. Nice outside eating/bar area although we only used it for the inclusive bfast and drinks. Would definately recommend only downsides were cost (above similar available) and shower warm but not super hot.

Very helpful,friendly staff. The hotel is located in the center of commercial, financial & heritage sites, a walking distance to Upper Penang Road - can find most happening eateries, cafe, shops(clothes, accessories).
