Comfortable Stay
We had an overnight stay at the Regalodge Hotel, Ipoh during our drive from KL to Penang. We found the hotel to be clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. There is convenient on site parking and the location of the hotel meant we could easily walk to the many restaurants in Ipoh. Our standard room had minibar, fridge and flat screen TV with English speaking news and movie channels. The breakfast buffet was limited but perfectly adequate and catered to all tastes. The hotel also has a spa and reflexology centre. The reception staff were very polite and friendly. We visited the nearby attractions of Kellie's Castle and the Cave Temples. Ipoh is a very pleasant and interesting town.
Value-for-money
The hotel may be located in a quieter part of Ipoh, but just 2 streets away, you will find a number of shops selling local food and snacks. A 10 mins walk will also take you to Ipoh Parade, a mid-size shopping mall with a supermarket, a departmental store and a variety of other shops.
The hotel is not big and the rooms looks tired and in need of some renovation, but is otherwise clean and tidy. I will say the breakfast is optional, as the spread and the food is kind of disappointing. However, the friendly and helpful staff more than make up for it and they managed to make it a nice stay for me.

Had expected better
Read from other reviews that this hotel is good and gave it a try. I've not stayed in other hotels in Ipoh, but I'd rate this hotel only average. Accomodation is acceptable and cleanliness is basic. Room size is pretty small for Malaysian standard and amenities are sparse, where our standard room did not even come with face towels. Nevertheless, for < SGD$60, I couldn't expect much. But I would like to compliment the hotel staff, who are all very friendly and welcoming, wearing a smile at most times.
Nice and valueable stay
For leisure stay it is a nice hotel. It's quiet and peace, staffs are friendly. Location to those favorite food stall was just a bit far and car park was small (limited parking lot). Overall this hotel is valueble to stay and i had been stay here for several trip. Hihihi....
Hotel Facilities
To me, this hotel is very deceiving! When i made booking thru website, i noticed that this hotel has those facilities that other hotels do not have. However, when i wanted to enjoy it, then i was told that all these facilities have to be charged! My experience with many hotels in this country is that, hotel facilities are free for in-house guess except like SPA may be need to pay, and that all! Unfortunately for this hotel, even gym also has to pay! I will never ever stay in this hotel any more because with this kind of charges, i can stay in any other good service hotel! This hotel not only deceiving in advertisement, the staff service also very questionable!
