Nice Room shame about the Noise
Luckily we only needed to stay here one night on our way to visit Danum Valley. The hotel was a good standard and the room clean and bright with a huge comfy bed. The bathroom was nice too. The down side was that there was an event to be held there the day after our stay - great we thought we'd be gone by then. However the hotel had decided that it would be ok to erect the marquees and test the sound systems throughout the night so by 1 am we were wide awake and listening to blasts of singing and bass at varying volumes. Judging by the presence of the manager at breakfast I think others had also found it spoiled their stay.
If you avoid an "event" a stay at this hotel would be a good experience. I guess we were just unlucky.
