The hotel was easy to find and...
The hotel was easy to find and well signposted. However, upon checking in they looked with suspision at the voucher supplied by Asia Rooms and then asked us what we had paid to AR! A toilet cistern valve was faulty, an overhead light for the sink not working even after maintenance had been in to see to both problems. The shower was laughable, as it was at just the right height for a 7 year old whilst in the bracket. The safe was also faulty but put right straight away, maybe this was a method of management knowing who was using a safe during their stay but there was no charge so doubt that this could be the case. Meals were slow to arrive and/or only just warm on arrival. Perhaps because of staffing issues not all of the restaurants were open each night and there is not much choice away from the hotel as it is a few kls from any village/town. The furniture in most of the dining areas except the lobby coffee bar, left much to be desired. We felt that all the chairs could do with a good scrub before we sat on them and the upholstery was filthy. One thing that Asia Rooms could do is to let potential clients know that this hotel does not supply alcohol after 7.00 pm and the only alcoholic drink is beer, available at the beach cafe from 12.00 till 7.00pm. We would have liked a wine list to choose from with our evening meals. Overal, we consider that the rating given for this hotel is exaggerated.

Nice hotel chosen by our friends for...
Nice hotel chosen by our friends for us. Entering the complex did not give you the "wow" factor you get with some eastern hotels, however, the foyer was lovely and the staff very friendly. As you settled in, you found it to be a very good hotel. Good choice of restaurants, some quite inexpensive and thte better ones, a little more expensive but still quite cheap. Beer is not cheap, but that is common on Malaysia. A very clean, well kept hotel, good pools and some low key activities. Some friends used the golf and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not much outside the hotel, we drove there but didn't feel the need to go outside as we saw nothing much on our way in. The only warning would be to families using the budget accomodation attached to the hotel but not part of their concern - apparently they are timeshare owned. These are 2-bed, 2 bath apartments and offer excellent rates. Our friend were booked in and were so un-impressed they moved into the hotel rooms and paid extra. The rooms were large, clean, a little worn and very basic. The approach to these rooms was less than desirable as the stairwells and corridors were horrible. We stayed for 3 nights and would like to have stayed more
