Mercure Hotel Utrecht was built in 1984. This is an excellent product and although situated outside the city centre, has very good links to the centre and is close to the highway making it easily accessible to Amsterdam.
The lobby is large but fairly dated but has plenty of seating and there is also an area where one can have drinks and light snacks. This is a modern, purpose-built hotel which blends in with the offices that surround it.
