I never write negativity on these things because you always think the dude is probably a loony tune and always complains. Not me, I just want to warn anyone else who thinks there saving time staying near the airport because you won't be saving much else.
Due to an early flight out of Christchurch, we decided to stay near to the airport. But that was the only advantage to this place! The rooms haven't been updated, including the fridge (which woke us up from it's intermittent electrical fits) and other facilities since the 1970s.
We heard everything from our neighbour's room, such as voices and TV noise. Dinner was one of the most expensive meals we'd had during our time in New Zealand - the lamb was dry, the veggies drowned in garlic and the potato rosti was spongey! we stayed in town in a gorgeous boutique hotel for less money so I'd much rather stay in town than to stay here ever again. As it is between the neighbours and the fridge we didn't get much sleep anyway!
