Come and see why everyone loves staying at the tourism award winning Pinedale Lodge in Methven-Mt Hutt village. Close to everything and a homely, relaxed base for skiing the Southern Alps, exploring the stunning Ashburton district and Lord of the Rings country, or just hanging out.

Variety of room options - including your own modern and clean self-contained 2 bedroom apartment or a private twin rooms, shared/family rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom in the backpacker lodge. Take advantage of the 4WD shuttle transport available for return trips to ski fields such as Mt Hutt, Mt Olympus, Mt Cheeseman and Porters (additional charges apply). We'll go where the snow is best, and our guests have access to the sauna when they get down from the slopes!

The private apartment is a home away from home with double glazing and air conditioning for your warmth and comfort. Sleeps up to 4 people with 1 double room and 1 twin room. Full kitchen with stylish stainless steel appliances (incl. gas hob, dishwasher), guaranteed hot water, TV and movie library, ipod clock radio, private garden, BBQ, mountain views, separate storage room.

The lodge has a relaxed, friendly vibe, 2 spacious living areas with long dining tables, couches, a big open fire and surrounding “love-pit”, free pool table and movies - great to watch on the high-definition Freeview TV. Plus there's 24 hour hot showers powered by gas in the just renovated bathrooms, high speed internet and WIFI (first 15mins free), a large, fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher), individually heated bedrooms with beds fully made, ski tuning room, drying and storage facilities, 2 person cedar sauna.

The base of Mt Hutt is only a 10 minute drive away and within 5 minutes walk are legendary pubs - The Blue Pub and Brown Pub, an art house 'Cinema Paradiso'. The Visitor Centre is nearby as are supermarkets, a book shop, galleries, ski and snowboard shops and a gym. There are plenty of places to eat, including takeaways, pub meals, cafes and restaurants.

Nearby activities include skiing, snowboarding, hot air ballooning, jet boating, Lord of the Rings tours, tandem skydiving, hiking, golf, rafting, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, and horse-riding.

Pinedale and Methven is an easy 1 hour drive from Christchurch International Airport. 2.5 hours drive to stunning Lake Tekapo, 3.5 hours drive to Dunedin, 5 hours to Wanaka, 5.5 hours to Queenstown.
